@Bri C ​ Ok I'll try to explain the joke (because that always makes it funnier): I _know_ what the phrase one foot in the grave means, how it's a clever pun for a guy who's got only one leg, and it was a tv show some time ago. My joke was mirroring that: When you're tucking your gut in, you're keeping up appearance of not being fat, and there also was a tv show some time ago named after that phrase. The joke was a bit far fetched I suppose. Though I didn't expect someone to be THAT upset over a joke.

I think the trouble is people these days are so afraid of causing any offense, or being associated to the person making the joke by laughing, they daren't laugh at anything anymore. I bet most of the people in that audience found that funny, but they were too cowardly to laugh. It was a good joke!

The Clarkson era is so much better than the original. It used to boil my p*ss when Chris Tarrant used to try and talk them out of the correct answer. The contestant would say "B please Chris" and Tarrant would say "not C ?". In the earliest series the 50 50 was no way random either. Every time it would get rid of the two most obviously wrong answers.
