Best of Crashes & Fails ⚠️ Spa Francorchamps - CRASH & FAIL COMPILATION - Trackday, Porsche Cup, Formula etc (footage 2000-2005)
We had some older footage from Spa Francorchamps that was uploaded onto our second channel years ago, but since we don't use that channel anymore, we decided to share the best clips with you here!
These clips are filmed somewhere between 2000 and 2005 with a terrible camera, so obviously these clips aren't anywhere near HD, but they are still good enough to watch in my opinion :)
Ps: none of the drivers in this video had any major injuries.
Note: I had to reupload the video because KZbin-staff don't seem to know the difference between a controlled environment (racetrack) and a non-controlled environment (public streets etc).

I don't find it very informative to see a series of cars that are already out of control by the time we join the action. To learn from these mistakes, we'd need to see what was happening before the drivers lost control.

Its all about the downforce difference

This is S turn also climbs on a hill. So when you reach the 2nd part of the turn (going left) the car lifts from the ground, and loses a lot of traction. From that point there's nothing to do but pray that you didnt enter too fast. That's the thing, all cars have to lift off the throttle at the bottom (right turn) or else there's no way to recover when reaching the top (left turn). Some F1 drivers famously claimed they go full throttle thanks to the massive downforce they have, but these same drivers did crash there... Thing is you WANT to go as fast as possible as just after this is the longest straight at Spa and the fastest you go through it, the more time you save on that straight. So pilots want to lift off the throttle a bit, but not too much, just enough so they dont crash on the top portion and safely enter the straight...
