Well to be fair she started professional training really late (18 years old). Back in 2013 most coaches in China believed that it was too late for her to achieve anything in her career. Luckily Lang Ping didn’t give up on her, and she’s since proven those coaches wrong.

@@megren1207 this just proves how a great coach who believes in her proteges can make even an average player rise to achieve greatness. Hopefully, when coach Lang Ping retires after the Tokyo Olympics the two successors (Diao Linyu & Yao Di) will be trained the same way Ding Xia

I am a big fan of the Chinese women's volleyball team since 2001 after I saw RuiRui zhao, I can say that Ding Xia is the best setter of Chinese women's volleyball ever had.

She join NT when she is 24 if I'm not mistaken during Asian Game 2014. Thanks to Lang Ping who brought her in compare to the previous coach. . She develop and improve by each tournament. What make her job more easier despite her own talent is the reception of Chinese team. . Some team, receive the ball so bad and their setter struggle to handle it

Coming back to watch from 2022 VNL. So sad that Ding Xia is being used as a substitute setter rather than starting setter now, but she's still as good. Really miss Zhang Changning, Zhu Ting and Yan Ni on court :( But I still like the players now, seeing much potential in the new team.

That nootsara didn't helped Thailand team win any major titles for Asia, but Ding Xia did, in Olympic games and the World Cup (twice). So nootsara doesn't deserve the spot. Ding Xia does.

Nootsara is good too but her attackers are not good enough for her to use. Ding can use 100% of her powerful offense (Zhu, Zhang, Gong, Yuan, etc) all very tall & strong. Also, since being leftie, she can smash the ball whenever she wants in the front row
