Hey everyone! I stayed up all night so I could record my first Halloween light show for anyone who can’t make it to my new house I moved into this summer. I hope you like it - if you do, please share and subscribe! Of course, if you can make it out, please do as it’s MUCH better in person!

Since 99% of the lights are LEDs, the electricity to run the show for the entire month is about $100. I sequenced the show using LOR, mixed the music/sound effects with Digital Performer, and edited the video in Final Cut Pro. This is now my third year decorating, but my first year doing Halloween. I built all the props using wood, metal, acrylic and corrugated plastic. I am a music director for Centerville Presbyterian Church in Fremont), hence the massive instruments! Although the beams are powerful up close, they are a small percentage of real searchlights and are so widely dispersed that by the time they are up in the sky, they don't interfere with aircraft etc.The guitar is 17', the piano is 19' and the drums are standard. About 14,000 channels of lights! Fair use for educational purposes. Happy Halloween everyone!

I gotta say, I'm amazed and impressed! The fact that someone would put so much time and effort into this is astonishing! AND you started the whole thing off with the song from my favorite movie EVER! I wish I could meet you in person, but I don't think I live anywhere near you, so that's a bummer. :( But I can still enjoy the magic here!

oh that is a bummer you moved. You had so much more space at your old location. I was not all that fond of your sequencing it looked to pre-automated. You have done a much better job in the past. How ever I feel you may have been pressured for time

I had no intention of calling him out. I was here to help provide my thoughts on his lights. I felt his show could of been rushed as he is in a new place. The majority of his lights appear to be pre programmed sequences that come with the majority of sequencing programs such as madrix or nutcracker. I feel there was not enough of a customized feel to his show so far. Pointing out a couple things I noticed was the fact he did not use his instruments like he did last year. He decided to take the "easy" route out. He could of done a bunch more stuff that would of been more pleasing to the eye to watch. How ever I feel there was not enough attention focused on the detail of how the lights were operated. This is always the difficult part of doing these shows. I understand this completely. I am just trying to give him honest feed back on my thoughts of what he did and what I feel he could do differently. If you want to call that calling him out. That is your choice. How ever this was not my intention. With that I will end this. Have a great halloween!

+Agentsix1 You know what you're right! I just saw this whole kit (including the giant piano and guitar) on Amazon.com for $39.95! Of course installation was $12,587 so if he put it up himself he saved himself some big bucks! I wouldn't worry about the suggestions bothering Tom. He's got his hands full trying to find a gigantic guitar pick in medium or heavy. All anyone has is gigantic picks in light.

+Agentsix1 I can see how you may feel that way about it. I can assure you that they are not pre-programmed. I was with Tom when he worked on this project and watched him work. He is a very dear friend of mine and we work together a lot in terms of music, especially at our church. :-)

+Yortunato Fabut He's not saying its pre-programmed, he's saying the effects are generated by programs like Nutcracker, etc. You can, of course, modify these effects to your display. This is what Tom did and it's great. For example, the "propeller" effect in Tom's show is a new effect you can do with Nutcracker. It would be impossible to hand program an effect like that.
