I never get tired of listening to Cliffe, he admits that he doesn't know instead of coming up with whatever comes to mind, as if trying to con a person into accepting Christ.

It’s crazy to see the difference of attention span and respectfulness in the different time periods these conversations took place. I noticed in a recent video where Cliffe was with another young guy who was assisting in the apologetics it really seemed like everyone wasn’t really listening to him. Basically, it seemed as though they were waiting until they heard something they didn’t like and totally ignore the rest of what he was saying. The ppl in the background also weren’t as attentive as before; rather, they were having more of their own conversations and seemed as though they wanted to be loud and disruptive to the dialogues. Just an observation I noticed

I agree. But Cliffe is so patient and attentive that he manages to disarm and therefore get through to some people and make them think. I think that's amazing. I wish I had a small fraction of his patience and grace; maybe then I'd be able to reach some. It's a great apologetics lesson. But ultimately all one can do is scatter seeds and leave it God to water and bring forth His new spiritual creation. I'm reminded of the parable of the sower. Many of us are too squeamish about planting seeds because we hate the emotional and psychological anguish we may experience when we engage in apologetics. We are of course right to be squeamish in a sense, because all apologetics are spiritual warfare against a formidable enemy. But also our faith is too flimsy to trust that the Lord will be by our side as we prepare to walk into Mordor.

Because people from previous generation made shows where sassyness is appreciated especially from young people, and then because of that people learnt that sassy=cool and a lot of shows about how people are just "different" and should be given empathy (which is okay on its own, but people like taking the lesson shallowly). So now people are more focusing into destructing one another to feel superior than actually discuss to learn, while at the same time trying to be a social justice warrior.

I limped for 9 years at times bedridden for 3 months every year in excruciating pain. The doctors said I would never walk properly again plus they could do nothing for me. I called out to Jesus to take the pain off of me. He shook my bed. I said who are you. Later I heard, "prepare my house for forgiveness". After I repented of my sins one night immediately after it felt like I was walking on air. I asked Jesus for direction while I was driving my kids to school & at the same time a man walking on the footpath waved at me. I watched through my rear vision mirror as he walked into a baptist church. The following Sunday I went to that baptist church & they called that man The Gardener. Well he gave me prophecy & while he spoke to me i felt spiritual water flow up my legs & into my left hip & I started jumping on the spot. I had no more limp & the church group took us hiking & I could run too. So after those 9 years, I went swimming again. I haven't limped since! I posted evidence for you, when the doctors tested me when I was limping for those 9 years and later they tested me again after Jesus healed me through spiritual water in a baptist church. You can see in the first test says my protein count was 28 over 10, which crippled me; and later it was 8 over 10 which is normal. See below:- m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=810351876123431&id=100014458776549&mibextid=Nif5oz m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=810352329456719&id=100014458776549&mibextid=Nif5oz Later Lord Jesus called me Saved.

52:00 I think a really good argument against mythology or other religions like Buddhism is, "Well what do they say that we can prove or disprove?" So for example, the Bible says there was a beginning and there will be an end. Science also agrees, the big bang shows us the universe is 13B years old and started at one point, and physics tells us decay of matter and energy means there is going to be an end (they dont know how it will end exactly, big crunch, unlimited expansion, etc) so if a religion said, "The universe is eternal" or "It will never die." They are incorrect. That religion or philosophy can be prove inaccurate. Same with Gods of the gaps (mythology). "Thunder/lightning was Thor/Odin/Zeus being angry!!!" No, theres scientific reasons for why thunder and lightning occur. The bible never claims anything to the sort of Gods of the Gaps. Its written as historical facts. This is what I saw, this is what they said, this is their actions, this is what happened. Not little red riding hood or a comic book. Now you move onto what Cliffe explains, "Why believe in Christianity over the Qu'ran or Torah?" Well, how did Jesus live compared to Mohammad? Mohammad preached like Jesus did, but he had 14 wives, therefore he was not living out a sinless life as the book they draw laws from (Bible/Torah) commands us to live. Jesus did live a sinless life, he died on the cross forgiving his enemies and over 500 witnesses saw him risen from the dead over the period of 40 days. Therefore he is reliable. Mohammad says in the Qu'ran to one city, "Be peaceful, do not raise your swords!" goes to another city, "raise your swords in self defence!" and goes back to the first city, "Kill the infidel!" How are those consistent? How are those consistent to the teaching of Thou Shalt Not Kill and Love Thy Neighbor as you love yourself, and so on? Jesus never said to kill anyone, he said to turn the other cheek, love your enemy as you love yourself, and dyin on the cross exclaiming, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do!" is 100% consistent with how he taught, lived, and died. Mohammad is not consistent. The Torah / Old Testament gives prophecy of the Messiah, Jesus fits that prophecy. Unfortunately for Jews the same Pharisees that were angry over losing power and money from their followers are the same people who told them and still tell them Jesus isnt the Messiah, that the Messiah has yet to come. We can match the descriptions of the Messiah to what Jesus actually was and we know he was a real person, they dont deny this, its obvious he was the Messiah. For example Isaiah 53:3-6 (Look up Jews for Jesus or ONE FOR ISRAEL Ministry on youtube for more information.) "But how do you rise from the dead, thats unbelievable! Thats false!" Well, if hes the incarnation of God, he can do that. The purpose of his sacrifice was fulfilled, and the promise of life eternal was proven according to his resurrection. If we had a time machine you could get the proof you so desire, but otherwise you're going to have to trust the word and testimony of the 500 people who were there. "But how can I trust that, it was so long ago?" Well, George Washington existed, Abraham Lincoln existed, how do we know about them? From documents written by them and other people. Jesus is exactly the same. "But what if they had motives to make money or get rich or lie to start wars or take down the roman empire?" People wont die for something they know is a lie. None of the disciples or early Christians were praised or made wealthy. They were persecuted, exiled, and killed. None of them recanted on what they claimed to have seen. They were sharing the gospel with people because it was proven that Jesus was God and there is a Heaven and there are consequences for our actions. If you read what they were doing when Jesus was killed, it shows the truth. They were afraid, they were antagonized, "You know Jesus you're one of his disciples!" They ran, lied, and said "No I dont know him! Please dont hurt me!" This is exactly what a person would do if they knew the truth would get them killed. And so on..... We have a rational mind for a reason folks. Read the book. Don't base your understanding of religion on what you heard or how some followers live their lives. Hypocrites are real. Blasphemers and deceivers are real. People like westborrow baptist and the KKK who claim to be Christians yet preach hate and violence are not followers of Christ. Christ taught against racism, hate, bigotry, violence, and so on. Read the book. Decide for yourself.

I read the Old Testament to see the stories of the ancient people who lived back then. I read the New Testament to learn of the Gospels of the eyewitnesses of Jesus Christ and His teachings. I'm on the book of Leviticus on my journey to read the whole bible. The stories are very interesting, and the lessons to learn from both the Old and New Testaments are things I apply to everyday living. Praise be to God, and to His Son who sacrificed His life for us so that we may be free from sin! 38:39 I dunno. I mean I have a view. Yes indeed we do have to suffer for our ancestors decision. Is it fair? Prlly not. Does it happen? Yes of course. Ancestors influence their children and their childrens children. This has been fact since the dawn of time and even atheists agree with this. When a ancient tribe builds their home in a swamp and everyone is eaten by crocs or something. What happens? The rest of the world learns from it and has to suffer from it. 'maybe we shouldn't build homes in swamps'. Is it fair we shouldn't build in the swamps? No! Can you build it in the swamp? Yes! And what happens when you do? The rest of your bloodline will deal with the consequences.

For people who never heard about Jesus, in their final moments come their judgement day, surely they would say "Lord I'm deeply sorry I lived such a sinful life. I don't want to be separate from you. Please Jesus, forgive me", which is repentance, and calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is the exact requirement to get into heaven. Also if you think about it, do you think God would really resurrect them from the dead, simply just to torture them with the idea of death? Or would he do it as a "last chance" scenario? Given how merciful he is, I genuinely believe forgiveness is possible during judgement day. Of course they still have to repent of their sins and learn the true way of living, but they will almost definitely choose Christ, given that final ultimatum.

This is the first time I've disagreed with Cliff; God can change 2+2 = 4. He can change numbers.; and he can change the rules of a universe that he created. Plus children are not accountable up until the age of seven. Which is the age of reasoning
@crazydave247
@crazydave247 4 ай бұрын
I think his line of reasoning is based on the idea that if 2+2=/=4, those numbers would no longer represent their current definition. Looking deeper into math and physics, there are plenty of anomalies and "laws" that seem almost arbitrary or to be an exception almost as surprising as 2+2=/=4.

God is all powerful and he could make what we call a square a circle he could change the mind of every living being. A better saying is that he does not contradict what he called good. Matthew 28:18 says all power so yes God can do anything and his essence is Love. God doesn't abuse us because he loves us it's his nature. We are therefore abused by yielding to sin.

I've been battling my faith.. Off and on Satanist/Atheist/Agnostic/kinda Christian... I can say Jesus DOES come to you. But, you have to SEE it... My journey started right here on KZbin. I was busy doing something and just listening to autoplay.. When I was done, I started watching whatever was on. I got into it. Then, I heard 'Jesus'... and said 'OMG'. I'm watching a freakin Bible movie.... But, I was into it! I started it over and it was pretty good.. Then, I realized they were acting out the Bible word for word! By the end of the 3hr movie, I had chills and finally understood Jesus! A story I've heard 10,000x, this one time, called me and I listened... My question was with all the autoplay I go through, why all of a sudden did a Bible movie come on?

Good question...how about those people dies before the Lord Jesus came? The bible has an answer... I PETER 3:19 (SIN) in which also he went and preached to the spirits in prison, 3:20 (SIN) that were disobedient once when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while an ark was prepared, in which few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. There is no spirit yet in hell...

Jesus never taught religion or Christianity he taught having a Relationship with God through himself all religions are man-made true Christianity was originally a following not a religion early followers in Christ were called Christians in Antioch to mock them for following Christ.
@fun_at_work
@fun_at_work 4 ай бұрын
That's not true. He said that those who were his followers were his body on the Earth. He taught them how to worship, taught them to baptize and many other things, and having begun The Church, his followers taught everyone what they learned. You can see that is Acts and in Paul's writing and you can't find contradiction with anything Jesus taught in their letters and the tradition of The Church which they taught. He sent The Holy Spirit to them and they built a storehouse for The Truth. They and their disciples are the only reason you know that Jesus exists, or what he said.

@@fun_at_work Worshipping is teaching how to have a relationship. It's not a religion. The only church that he spoke Of was the people of the church not a building made of sticks and stones to followords would be considered a church.where did he say I have brought a new or any religion. The only time religion is mentioned is when he's criticizing the pharisees for worrying about their tradition and not a relationship with god. He was actually criticizing religion of his day. What is the difference between Religion and Relationship with Jesus Christ ? Religion can be very different than having a Relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Religions are man made and are based on trying to get to God through rules and regulations and good works. All man made religions are based on people’s efforts at reaching God and being made right with Him through their own efforts. But God’s plan for man’s salvation and for having a restored personal relationship with Him is told throughout the Bible. In the Old Testament and the New Testament alike. God’s plan is not based on people’s efforts and good works. His plan is based on His amazing Love and amazing Grace for us. God’s plan involved His precious Son Jesus paying the price and cost for our sins on the cross. You need to put ALL of your trust and faith in Jesus and in what He did for us on the cross. Not in any religion or church or in your own efforts. If you put all of your trust and faith in Jesus, repent from your sins, and commit to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then you can experience the joy of a right love RELATIONSHIP with God.

@@fun_at_work yes that's true the disciples spread his teachings bit they never said that he brought a new religion. He brought the good news that if we repent our sins and believe in him that we would gain the free gift of salvation. You do know that the term Christian didn't come from believers in Christ but it was a way for unbelievers to mock the followers of Jesus.

God obviously can make a square a circle and 2 plus 2 equal 5 why does he limit the All Powerful God? God set literally everything He stands above reality He made squares and circles and He made the mind that comprehend that. He made all things seeable and unseeable so thats a bad answer from Cliffe

35:44 this is coming from a Christian just for context, but does this mean that God is not truly all powerful? The way that Cliff respond to this makes it sound like God cannot change some things about the universe, but God created the universe, we understand a square and a circle to be a square and a circle because he made our minds in a way that we understand that, but couldn't he just easily made our mind understand them as opposites?

With the issue of children and sin, it clearly says in the bible we are born into sin. The only thing we know for sure is God is just and Holy, and what righteousness is defined by Him. We can be certain that children do go to heaven bc God is a loving a just God but also that Jesus died for us so therefore their sin is also washed, wether its inherent, or a matter of being old enough to be aware of sin is a different question and issue

We're not necessarily guilty of sin because it's sin or because it's anti-life in one way or another, we're guilty of sin because by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil we, the human race, became accountable for our actions in a way that babies and toddlers aren't. When God questioned Adam and Eve about eating the fruit of the tree, Eve innocently said exactly what she was told by the serpent; that God forbade her to eat from the tree because God knows that the day she did she would become like God knowing good and evil. So although Eve disobeyed God and believed the serpent instead of believing God, I think God could have forgiven Eve because when she chose to believe the serpent she did not yet know good from evil. She was innocent just as a baby is innocent, that is to say, not understanding that she did anything wrong.. But then Adam chimed in after having eaten from the tree and becoming accountable in that he knew good and evil, Adam threw Eve under the bus and deflected blame from himself to God, accusing God of giving him "this woman" as if to say "I was minding my own business in the garden but you had to go and give me a woman." So Adam's first act for which he was accountable was self preservation, and anti-love. But what is God's purpose for man? To love the LORD your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength; and to love your neighbor as yourself. So, it's love, love, love. Adam failed both while knowing the difference and therefore being accountable. But because God loves us and did not want us to become like Satan who being immortal and accountable could only accumulate acts for which he would be accountable because he had all the time in the world to pile on sin on top of sin, God severed our access to the tree of life so that our accountability would be limited to our life span and therefore we would remain redeemable. Then the plan was to win us back and revitalize us through a baptism of fire in the world of hard knocks in the hope that His promised redeemer would redeem us and reconcile us back to God by our free will, being fully accountable and therefore willing to be reconciled to Him by love, because He loved us first and made a way back for us if we would choose to accept it.

KJV - Revelation 20 : 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I come from religious families on both my parent’s sides. They even put me in catholic school for a little bit. I also have identified as agnostic since I was a teenager. I eventually came to the conclusion that religion was created to control the masses and that there probably was a god that created everything but everyone is probably making their best guess to what that means. I put religion aside in my mind but still at the same time based how I lived my life on a truth I learned from Jesus at a young age. Do unto others as you would have done onto you. Taken 39 years but I call myself a Christian now and can’t stop learning and researching everything I can on Jesus.

To answer a question: Jesus states not to worry about the little children, for they will always have a place in the kingdom of heaven. So I guess if you wanted to logically analyze it, until you reach that age of realization, you likely have the golden ticket. Which is comforting!

If you look at the old sumarian tablets and look at the end of this particular story it was simply to expand the world they have with well meaning entities... becuase when you spread life and you don't have rules it becomes Is havoc as what happend up above as lesser creations began to make other creations and becoming out of hand. So I believe the specific reason we are made is to fill up a larger greater community (heaven) with people who won't cuase problems and have similar mind sets(not stealing,graping, harming and other basic stuff. And to have a simple understanding that there is a leader and he is God. Our God not any other. And jesus reset the rules to getting into heaven so if you genuinely had remorse over your actions and make any attempt to change it you fit in line with what christ died for.
