Here's my problem with that. Most people are going to agree with that statement because it has the ego-stroking idea of "Well, I'm smart enough to know that the average voter is stupid. But I'm not the average voter. No no. I'm one of the smart ones". But.. if mostly everyone thinks that.... then they aren't the special genius that they think they are. They are, in fact, with the majority and are themselves the "average voter". So either, you and the rest of everyone else are stupid, or the statement is false.

The experiments were done in small groups, and the actors who acted as the majority spoke their answers aloud. However, in the US and other democracies, votes are done by secret ballot. I am assuming the conclusion you are making is that we aren't all stupid, but we go along with the stupid majority? For something as serious as the leadership of your country, I think that is a very simplistic conclusion. If, however, my assumption is wrong, and you are actually agreeing with my previous message, and we are all conforming to the idea of "I am smart, everyone else is stupid" then, of course, I stand corrected.
