It is a very good idea. It's valuable knowledge to know where the meat comes from, how it's prepared, and why we shouldn't waste it. My grandma showed me how to slaughter chickens and ducks, and I learned how to prepare love fish. Never done a large mammal, but the principal is the same.

We literally have a food truck company out here that has been going door to door serving food years before the whole Food Truck craze caught on. The amusing thing is that it was more of an Ice Cream truck styling and you had to actually cook the food yourselves, but EVERYBODY in Colorado Springs / Black Forest knows about Schwanns.
