I knew Johnny Smith, he used to knock on our door for a cup of tea and a butty when I was a kid. My Grandparents knew him from when he was a child. They said he lived in our street (Cleveland st, Peasley Cross) when he was little with his adopted parents. And the bit about dressing him as a girl, sadly is true. Maybe that’s why he ended up in the situation he did. Who knows. Rest in peace Johnny x
