I didn't hear any of this, but I know that Ozzy's way of singing is really "odd", in that it's kind of "off", and there also tends to be a lot of doubling, even live I believe. AND, nobody is gonna want to hear or believe it, but there might be live tuning as well. - But whatever it is, the way he "sings" is very unconventional and a lot of singers will sing more "properly", making it sound absolutely wrong for an Ozzy song. - It's kinda like trying to sing Jimi Hendrix songs technically sound, it will not sound right for a Hendrix song. - In fact, I just tried to sing a Dire Straits song earlier, trying to sing properly, but it almost doesn't work cause of how Mark Knopfler does it.

I don't think they were rivals. There was a lot of respect both ways. Randy was a very technical and classical player. When he was asked how he came up with the guitar licks that the kids would like he said basically rips off Eddie's stuff. "I have my own personality on the guitar but as of yet I don't think I have my own style. For instance, I do a solo guitar thing in concert, and I do a lot of the same licks as Eddie Van Halen. Eddie is a great player, but it kills me that I do that."

I was born in 1990, years after Ozzy's hey day, but by 2002 I was fully converted. Went to Ozzfest twice with my Dad; saw the original line up of Sabbath, saw Black Label Society, and of course Ozzy's band. Met Zack at a CD signing event, had a picture taken with him, and he signed my guitar. Used to draw "OZZY" on my knuckles when I was in middle school. Same time as his TV show was airing. What an impact Ozzy had on my life. Glad to see he finally got inducted!

This shows Wolfgang is not only a very good guitar player but also a true professional. He could have taken the easy route and improvised that solo, but he recognized how iconic it was, he took the time to learn it nearly note for note and play it well. He did Randy justice. I think Randy would have gotten a kick out of this, seeing his ex rival's son playing his solo.

I walked to him shyly and said to him "It's pleasure to meet you Mr. Osborne" he stopped looked up at me and thrust his hand into mine and said "Well it's a pleasure meeting you..." and I said my name" and said "Indeed Eric it is" and signed my Speak of the Devil album and did another on the inside sleaving. They guy basically worked his arse off putting all those songs together . He was paid out a lump sum of cash and given ZERO songwriting credits. Nice one, Sharon and Ozzy!!! 😮 Ozzy thanked Sharon and his family. He also thanked Randy Rhoads, but purposefully gave zero thanks to Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake, Jake E Lee,. Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge - the very guys who put him on the map as a solo performer and gave his 80's comeback the brilliant kickstart it needed in the 1980's... he did good. there is a reason they didnt have zack play this :P. tho just listening to randy play it a couple of times on tour before he died, there was alot more love there. Every pause was filled with dif riffs. he changed them most live shows. some of his warmups before shows are so fun to listen too. wolfgang is good. i hope he works to become great

He had the "audacity" of changing the feel of the solo with his own feel, and he nailed it. Everyone in the audience was like "Yeah man, that also works, do whatever you want you rock". Randy would´ve love it.

My very first concert as a teenager in the 80s. Metallica was the warm up band. James Hatfield still has a cast on his arm from the crash they were in and luckily for me Randy Rhoades was still alive but died 2 concerts later. One of the best nights of my young life and to this day Metallica and Ozzy are my favorite bands to still listen to. Congrats Ozzy..

Nobody sings it like Ozzy, that's the whole point. Ozzy's voice has that warm blanket touch we've all gotten so used to being tucked into before we go to sleep in the all-shades of musical magic dreams we whirl in that which is his legacy.. eh... That no ONE can replicate, only honour that feeling of sound. Love to you all and long live The Prince of Darkness!

I went on a church youth group trip from Palos Verdes, California to Tijuana, Mexico and some fellow youth grouper, played Crazy Train on his guitar. I was HOOKED. I "HAD" to learn to play the violin at 12 something years old, and when I was "practising," I would play, I would "try" to play, "Crazy Train," on my violin. Now, I'm in my 50's, I am so grateful for that dude on the "Christian," bus going down on a trip to help build orphanages in Mexico, for introducing me to one of THE most talented and charismatic and ENTERTAINING people in the whole wide world . Thank you Ozzy for your music and your light in this darkness!
