He is best stand up out there followed closely by Al Murray who is a genius the way he’s created a parody character and some think he’s for real. His knowledge of History, Wars, Geography the lot is insane. Spends an entire show picking on audience but ties it all together so well.

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm Scottish, but live overseas now, and I crack up at some of his childhood/teen stories, what he and his mates got up to, because 90% of children and and teens in Scotland, have had the same experiences, especially if you live on a council estate. Billy is exactly the same. We can relate to them, no matter which era they come from.

He's really good. There's a thread which is like an observational 'life' kind of comedy, which is intellectual in a manner. This is done without coming across in any way snobby - more than merely delivering in his native Glaswegian accent (Scots naturally somehow make stand-up delivery even funnier in my view, I'm from SW England). It's the choice of topics and knowing what resonates with a lot of people. It's clever and well done, he's a real pleasure to watch!

There is a hell of a lot of "inside" cultural humour here. I'm English, and sometimes I have to play things more than once to understand them properly! Don't give up easily...
