He's also brilliant…intellectually. But he didn’t have a normal family, lost even that, then was trained professionally as an older teen. He can see through schemes and things like that, but this is his one 'weakness' in the show. Likewise, Yor is very intelligent but doesn’t question why loid is practically a superhuman. They are each others only weakness/blindspot because they, on opposite sides of it, were both affected by the war. It's actually really good writing.

@@no.8952 yes, definitely. of course my comment is supposed to be silly but the writing is really good and endearing so far. they complement each other well. and don't get me started on all my feelings about the wholesomeness of all 4 of them never having had a real family and finding each other! but so perfect that Yor is the only one to have experienced love and being a caretaker, she is the nurturing presence of the home. during the cruise arc Twilight struggles a bit again with parenting without her, they make a great pair together and balance each other out!

Yor is Twilight’s blind spot. This random civilian woman, who slipped his top spy sensory perception, immediately accepts his very weird and suspicious request to pretend to be his wife really without question and a very lame excuse. Then he formally proposes after an armed chase that ended with a grenade ring on her finger and she was totally cool with it. This “normal civilian” was completely unfazed by the violence, knives, and bullets and even joined in expertly fighting alongside him, but freaks out about physical intimacy after being the one who proposed in the first place. She does crazy abnormal stuff many times over their time together with terrible excuses, and with complete confidence Twilight is just like “ya that my normal wife Yor, she’s a touch clumsy, inhumanly strong, and an expert fighter but it’s fine”. He accepts her terrible excuses without hesitation or question and she does the same with his, both always internally asking themselves how the other could actually fall for the blatant lie, even though they are both highly trained and usually notice others like them. It’s a similar situation with Anya but he thinks she is just weird and blindly accepts her, less lame her parents’ still but still lame, excuses for her weird behavior. He also doesn’t notice that she is absolutely younger than 6 from the way she talks, writes, and acts, and that’s why she has such a harder time doing everything compared to her older and already previously educated classmates. True he doesn’t know much about kids, but this is so blatantly obvious and suspicious. The parents of the Forger family have the most astronomically huge blind spots for their fake spouse and child. Little 4 year old Anya the telepath is just enjoying watching her assassin and spy parents’ missions unfold ever day simply thinks it’s awesome like her TV show lol

I do believe that part of the reason of them believing each other is the fact that neither off them know what a normal regular family is. Both Yor and Twilight where orphaned at a very young age, and though Yor had Yuri she basically became a maternal figure for him. Both became soldier/assassin at a very young age too. I doubt Yuri was a normal child, and I think Twilight never had any experience with children, so basically they have no idea how to deal with Anya and are first time parents.

I've seen a lot of people complain over the fact that Twilight, considered one of the most skilled spies, is completely unable to detect that his fake wife who has crazy ninja skills when it comes to fighting isn't even remotely suspicious as bad writing, but I absolutely adore it. People forget that Spy x Family is a comedy, first of all. It's supposed to be funny. But there is the fact that Twilight and Yor are not only not at all normal and have no concept of what a healthy and normal family should be like, but Twilight has definitely fallen for her and hasn't realized it. She is his blind spot because he has presumably never felt romantic feelings for anyone before and is clearly not aware of the fact that he has them, and as a result, he thinks the lack of suspicion he has is because there is no reason to be suspicious. So in a way, it actually points back to his position as a good spy. He has so much confidence in his abilities as a spy so the fact that Yor does not set off any red flags makes him put his guard down; completely unaware it's because he's developed a genuine attachment to her.
