What happened to this game?? We had so many profiles on the competitive scene; Micke, Breaky, Swindlemellonz, Zlapped, Hanni, Moonmeander etc.... The list really goes on.... How did this game die all of a sudden? You know its dead when we have to use pro players, who haven't played the game in what, 3 years, to make compilations :/ Heroes of Newerth - I salute you! You will never be the same

I guess the number of competitive players were dwindling even back then, but when HoN Tour ended here in EU/NA, there were no longer any tournaments to compete in. The majority of the competitive players were already playing other games and now didn't have a reason to stick with HoN. Micke and some others would return to play the HoN Tour Qualifiers last year and the year before that, but apart from those and a couple of gold coin tournaments, there's been no competitive scene. I do appreciate that people try to revive the competitive scene by hosting community tournaments. It's been fun to see some old schoolers like Imbaboy and WYG form teams and scrim eachother . Even if it's nowhere close to the glory of the good old days, I've enjoyed the content.

Back in those days when HoN was still alive ( S2 was running HoN a lot better ) however , on the other hand , Frostburn made HoN better for me because I play it now for fun , no more stressing to win. Also they dont check RAP so I troll almost everygame on purpose , seeing people go crazy saying report report and I never get banned xD

I really, really miss those good old times. I wonder what it would be like today if we had the same hype and advertisement for HoN vs. LoL like we have right now with Pubg vs. Fortnite. Or if HoN would have involved an icon like IceFrog.

pretty sure icefrog started out with hon when it first started. i think it failed because S2 originally charged $30 for it instead of having it free like LoL. by the time they made it free it was too late
