Woolie is speaking from the pop culture understanding of what a zombie outbreak is, so to him, Leon seems like an idiot for wanting to even try to help Marvin. However, for Leon, a cop from the 90’s, it’s extremely unlikely that he would even think that this is a zombie outbreak, and would likely start aiming for the head/chest area on police training alone. Dude’s reacting like a rookie cop trying his best to actually do what he thinks the job is: protect and serve

You see something similar when they complain that heroes could've solved a problem sooner if they were willing to let an innocent die (Infinity War would've ended sooner if Peter Quill just shot Gamora before Thanos could kidnap her ((that one's bugged me for years))).

I honestly have a genuine hate for the final Mr. X fight, not because it's bad or because I'm bad, because my friend who I played it with was bad, I played Claire A and let him do Leon B, one shitty play through later and we're on the final X fight with literally 100 flame thrower, 4 magnum shots, 10 handgun rounds and 3 knives. Needless to say I spent the next hour and a half learning how to beat X on hardcore mind you with only a knife just to not have enough ammo for train Birkin who I also had to knife to beat the game

Felt like it was taking forever on bad runs but when I dumped the little ammo I had on his heart one run I got him to second phase in under a minute, maybe it's both? And you totally can knife train fight Birkin, you just have to be outside of the kill range which is just close enough to be in knife range

That moment that you loved that Pat was here, but at the same time, you wish that Pat wasnt here. I like him on commentary, but he plays video games in a "certain Pat" way, that when he teaches others how to, it seems a bit....weird, for lack of better words. I know Woolie said because he didnt know the genre he would have a hard time but Woolie is a gamer, he wouldve learned and played in his own comfortable style as he went. I played the original RE2 when I was 8, alot of youtubers and streamers who never played any RE games before beat it no problem. I dont think Woolie would've had alot of issues if Pat wasn't taking the wheel. I just really hope Woolie enjoy the game and became a fan of it after this and hope hes still up to do Claire B in the future.

I gotta agree with Manny, Woolie is a great fighting game player, an amazing one at times, but the trade off is that he never improves at other genres. His DOOM 2016 playthrough is a perfect example: he brute forces his way through constantly making the exact same mistakes until the game is over.

If I had to guess, he probably did it because REmake 2 was Woolie's first survival horror game & Pat didn't want him to be turned off by eating shit too hard, since the genre requires a different kind of thought process than most games, and REmake 2 is unusually difficult by survival horror standards.

Jumpscares are few & far between, and there aren't many "shocking gore for shock's sake" scenes; is that what you're referring to? Any horror game is drastically less scary when you play with the lights on & with company.

It has *some* tension but not to the level of many more scary games and it basically loses even that after a while when you learn how to deal with Mr.X and have a flamethrower, shotgun and large caliber magnum to deal with any other threat that may lurk in the shadows.
