When you see Sabine driving around the Nurburgring it always looks so easy. Then I watch videos of ordinary people driving the ring and that makes me realise how brilliant Sabine is. 👍

Der Nürburgring ist wie ein Drachen. Ihn zu bezwingen ist eigentlich unmöglich. Sabine hatte den Nürburgring im Blut. Ich gebe allen die den Nürburgring nicht kennen den Rat. Unter 1000 Runden habt ihr den Nürburgring nur in Teilen verstanden. Es gehört Erfahrung dazu diese rennstrecke zu verstehen. Und das Fahrwerk ist eine Balance. Zu hart geht nicht. Und Serie schon gar nicht. Und in den heutigen Autos lässt es sich eh nicht ordentlich fahren. Im manta b oder BMW m5 von 1993 konnte ich noch driften. Ist ja heute nur steril.

6:19 - Blind behind the front car, maybe three car lengths, 200kph+, just sort of hope there isn't anything in the way that the car in front suddenly crashes into, and hope you remember how fast you should go in section (unless you completely trust the car in front and just mirror its speed). And at 10:39 - Wheel to wheel at 270kph+. AMAZING.

The tach doesn't show speed, it shows the revs of the engine. It's the coloured line at the top of the instrument cluster. The speed of the car is shown under the km/h heading. I'm not sure what's confusing you.

Tach ! Nur als kurze Info: das selbe Video gibt es (wie ich aufgrund der vorher gezeigten div. Szenen) auf VLN-Fanpage.de in HD (720), ist von der bildlichen Qualität besser, jedoch eine andere Kamera-Position (man sieht Sabine rackern + rechtes Seitenfenster). Außerdem ist die Perspektive nicht verzerrt, hier scheint ein 4:3-Bild auf 16:9 gezogen worden zu sein, mag ich nicht so gerne. Gruß !

+Sebastian Smith Ich vermute mal, daß die Fzg. einfach so kurz übersetzt sind. Der Nürburgring ist halt großteils recht kurvig, so daß man mit längerer Übersetzung vermutlich einfach mehr Zeit in den Kurven verlöre als auf den Geraden gewönne. Oder so.

One thing I learned in endurance racing. Never fight a better set up race car which is also easier on tires and the driver is just as fast as you. It will destroy your tires in just 2 laps, at the Ring. Unless you are obviously very faster than he is, but in this case no...

Dieser ewige Vordermann mit ROWE hinten dran, Mercedes SLS, wie ich hier lese, schon eine harte Nuss. Ich finde, langsamere Fahrzeuge sollten besser Platz machen, die Schnelleren überholen lassen, bei über 200 km/h so ein Hoppelding vor der Kurve, das kann böse ins Auge gehen. Aber wem schreibe ich das? Sabine Schmitz weiss eben, was sie tut und kommt auch in brenzligen Situationen klar. Daumen hoch und allzeit schrottfreien Flug! :)
