It is true! No one ever wants to look where they are going or they think everyone else is going to slam on their brakes to avoid them. Ironically these people show up a lot when there is no one behind you. It is as if they just want to pull out in front of you just to do it. They pull out like they are in a massive hurry and then they often drive so slowly you wonder if they are drunk. How many of them are texting is something I can't really answer for sure but it is a curse on our roads with everyone doing it and seeing to think that it is OK. Other times people who do all of these things might say we are in a hurry. Really they are just trying to falsely spin it the other way. These people sometimes make a trip take way too long and we shouldn't have to leave super early just because they want to play these games with us. We have a life and that is something that they don't seem to have!!

I get cammers at fault, but the other truck had plenty of time to see him and change lanes. A semi truck could be waiting hours to pull back out if they waited for a big enough opening to get up to speed before the next car comes. The left lane was free and clear, and if the other truck was paying attention, it should have moved over. Even if the cammer wasn't pulling out yet, he should have moved over.

@@freedomwillneverdie6600 So it appears you know one of the contributing factors of hydroplaning, but it seems you do not know the actual number behind that factor. 45MPH is all it takes to hydroplane a car, that is an on ramp to a divided highway which is safe to say contains a 65 or better speed limit which means you can't tell in that particular situation if they were going to fast since they would NEED to be being at least 50-55 IF the speed limit is 65 to safely merge into traffic. You should be doing no more than 10 under the posted speed limit when entering from an on ramp as that is the the expected speed to safely merge or slow down based on how traffic is already on that divided highway.

Number 10: as a trucker I actually complain about truck drivers doing this all the time. When you stop on the side of the road aka the shoulder you are supposed to use the shoulder if available to get up to speed at least somewhat before merging onto the travel lanes again. Even if it looks somewhat clear and the guy coming up behind you in the right lane could move over if they are paying enough attention you still have to be careful. that is the whole point of getting up to speed before merging back on. This is what can happen when you do not do that and almost no drivers do this for some dumb fucking reason. They have zero problems using the shoulder to slow down but they can't use it to get back up to speed. I can absolutely guarantee you that if the police got involved, even if the driver in the travel lane was sitting there on his phone he would not be considered at fault because the one that caused the unnecessary problem aka the accident, it was entirely the fault of the guy who entered the travel lane while going 5 mph. For my fellow truckers that don't fully understand what the hell I just said yes you may not have been taught any of this while I'm driving school but most state laws say this and that includes four-wheelers as well as semis. When you are getting moving from the shoulder you must start getting up to speed while your 4 ways are on. They once you get to around 30-40 miles an hour if it's safe to do so you turn on your left signal and slowly get into the travel Lane. Once you are in the travel Lane turn off your left turn signal and make sure your four ways are still on until you get back up to speed that the highway is set to. Just because it "should be obvious" does not mean you have the right of way any point in time. You must yield to traffic already in the travel Lane as if you were getting onto the highway from an on-ramp. If you don't know the yielding laws about that you should not be a driver at all.

Just a friendly word of advice to drivers out there. If your auto insurance limit on property damage coverage is at $100,000 or less, think about how much money you're still going to have to pay if you run one of these big rigs off the road and seriously damage it. Your company will write the check for the limit you carry and the trucking company's insurance carrier will come knocking on your door for the rest. If you own any equity at all that you want to protect, bump those liability limits up, folks. With the cost of everything going sky high, this could be a real trap if you don't address it BEFORE something like this happens!

If you feel like a situation might become dangerous, avoid it by breaking slightly or changing lanes. 3. If you see an accident occurring, ALWAYS stop and make sure there is no more help needed. 4. I try my best to never be in a truck's blind spots for too long. All the same, there are truck drivers that are pretty aggressive. I understand it as driving all day will frazzle your nerves and make you crazy. Drive a school bus myself and though I'm behind the wheel for short periods at a time, there's never a trip that multiple drivers don't do stupid things. No lights in the dark, turning from the wrong lane, changing lanes without right-of-way, passing red loading lights. The list is almost endless.

At 3:30 it seems fairly easy to see that coming and it was probably visible even earlier than we see in the clip. Yes it was the other driver's fault by changing lanes but slowing slightly or touching the brakes if the truck is on cruise control could have saved the trucker a nasty ride.
@LGTheOneFreeMan
@LGTheOneFreeMan 7 ай бұрын
At 3:14 the dumbass cammer needed to let the truck get around the hairpin. He can't just widen his turn through the guardrail. I live near a route where it's really windy with a lot of logging truck traffic, and you always stick to the white lines or cut the inside corners. You never know when you're going to meet with a chip truck or logger, and on tight corners and hairpins the trailer always comes at least over the doubles if not a foot into your lane. They're good drivers but they can't shrink the length of their trucks.

@@tiredoldmechanic1791 I very highly doubt he seized that gap to “save time.” 😂 He’s probably sick of morons that wait until the last second to merge, block up traffic, and act entitled. All he did was close the gap. The Hertz driver forced himself in anyway. Y’all are delusional.

@@MightyMakoYou seem to lack comprehension. A truck makes money by moving cargo. If a driver is involved in a collision, they are likely to be stopped at the scene for an hour or more. If the truck sustains damage, they could be out of service or several hours or days. If their employer looks at the recording and sees that the collision could have been avoided, they could be fired.
