They had fun with it but it had to be awkward to hear fans saying that shit. Easy to assume that once it actually developed, they didn't wanna share it, and meanwhile everyone just rightly had to keep going with the same old mentality, "they're cute on the channel but eh different thing." Very sweet that it turned out this way.
