The video’s unexpected start took me by surprise 😂😂, but then again, what else could I expect from the enigmatic Slavoj Žižek? 🎉🎂 Happy birthday to the man who fearlessly dives into uncharted intellectual waters! May his philosophical musings continue to provoke and inspire us all! 📚🌟🎈

I'm a Classical Liberal and so right leaning. Obviously Zizek isn't especially aligned to my natural outlook. But it's great to listening and read him, because he often identifies the problems incredibly well. Even if I don't agree with his solutions, I feel better for being challenged. That aside, I have always enjoyed Zizek's mention of Masks (minute 16 or so, for a couple of minutes - hard to give exact references with Slavoj! :D). That there is a truth in that we wear these masks for more than just dressing up, but because they represent a truth in ourselves that we are not yet ready to face. I feel that regardless of where you begin and where you end, you are made better by listening or reading to Slavoj.

A very nice compilation of Slavoy The Hurricane Zizek. One thing for me is a bit frustrating. Namely, in his talks he never goes to the end, when it comes to Trans- and Identity politics. Quote Zizek : "The problem of identity politics (...) it presupposes, that identies exist. I don't think they exist." There are quite some open words needed here, especially when we look at misery caused by the fixation on the benefits identity is supposed to bring. Compensatory Fetishism is just one terms here demanding a closer look. Sorry, I talk too much ;)

I started reading Karl Popper's "The Open Society And Its Enemies" and I learned that Popper considered metaphysical knowledge to play an important part in human societies. The Austrian philosopher argues that with the end of religion, sciences - particularly human sciences - have substituted gods with oversimplified explanations like "Hitler caused WWII". The faith people have in that statement causes us to easily accpept infanticide as a solution when we're asked the famous time machine/kill baby hitler question. People think that going to the past an killing a baby will result in no WWII because we have been told the oversimplified history. Another effect, Popper argues, of such oversimplification is how easily we don't consider nor inquire into the unintended results of our actions and of random events. Now we're facing a global crisis that most likely will cause the end of human life on earth - climate change - and for some reason those who try a deeper and more complex analysis of the two ongoing military conflicts are quickly labeled "appeasers", "fascists", "anti-semite" or "terrorist".

Thank you so much for such clear, direct and helpful talks. I like when he mentioned about the Opium War which is something people that will like to understand what's going on in the world's macro economics board, must study to understand the present. Worked for 15 years with Coca plant lecturing tourists from all over the world about how Peru's cocaine cartels begun, of course always started explaining The Opium War, when all cartel system begun. Personally I respect and admire the way how China emerged and most of all emulated and perfect what the West created. The way China saved, multiplied and invested the money is amazingly intelligent. Something important to mention is that while West expanded and expands imposing and exploiting, China does it by giving before taking. Most citizens of the world were born, raised and live in a community somewhere in an island, in the mountains or jungle, and thats why it is easier for China to expand and invest anywhere on Earth, it doesn't mean that indigenous or native community people are communists, it only means that they are aware of others, something Capitalism's egoism lacks.

I find your line of thinking graciously swift yet the silver lining is still flickering. There is a demographic that does not reside in the philosophy of nature, as in the example of trees and animals, of their inanimateness as serving stepping stones into what could be called an overthrow of physiology/mirage without necessecarily valuing their natural ability to territorialize consciousness even if exclusively empirically. Happy Birthday, may the dragon grant you passage. 🎉
