You all realize Pinky & the Brain is a part of the Animaniacs series, as were 2 others--Slappy Squirrel and Goodfeathers--but they were all brought to fruition from the fertile mind of Steven Spielberg. He wanted to make a modern cartoon classic with the same quality as the original Warner Bros--Bugs Bunny, Merrie Melodies, Chuck Jones, Tex Avery and Looney Tunes cartoons.

I guess you're right, but there still seems to be a higher ratio of cheapo- animated junk than "good stuff" - although I'll be the first to admit that "good" is a subjective term. If the writing is good, I can look past simpler styles of animation. The Regular Show is one example; the animation was simple [ compared to the WB titles I mentioned earlier], but the slacker/ stoner humor more than made up for it. But I still find most of the cartoons lacking when compared to the WB titles and some older Disney stuff like Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck and even Talespin . I guess, CarlyMara, that I'm just another cranky guy missing the "good old [ animated] days" and memories that go with them. At least there's KZbin- LOL.

Sturgeon's Law. It only seems like it's getting worse because you remember the great shows and forget all about things like Street Sharks, Wacky World of Tex Avery, Angela Anaconda... Meanwhile I'd suggest We Bear Bears, Gravity Falls, and the last season of Samurai Jack if you're looking for western animation this decade that deserves to stand the test of time.
