It might just be recency bias, but politics in the 80s and 90s just seemed so much more civil and self-aware than the toxic politics of today
@UnlimitedProduction15 жыл бұрын
It's definitely recency bias. What the 90s had that dead today however is nuance. The 90s was about counterculture so there was no outrage culture. Instead the nation pushed the boundaries. You had children's cartoons with humor parents would get, sitcoms about themes that conservative 80s would rage over, the rise of adult cartoons that dealt with things never before seen (Simpsons, South Park etc) but politically it was still a mess. Newt Gringrich (possibly spelled his name wrong) for example made a big deal out of EVERYTHING Clinton did and that form of extremists political assassination has gotten 10x more extreme to this day. Still the 90s were a good time

After watching the first few episodes, boy did we laugh! Roadrunner was fun. Bugs v. Daffy was fun. Duck Dodgers was hilarious. Sesame Street sketches were aimed at kids but targeted at adults (they're STILL fun). Pinky and the Brain were/are the best. Point being - rewatch the original episodes, because should it be 'rebooted', it'll be a fun-free, joke-free, joy-free disaster, as it 'might offend someone, somewhere'. But then, people consider me worse for not taking a side, let alone going as hard on one side as possible in response to the other side. But I digress.
