14:30 #30 It is clear from the footage that Fiat fully intended to turn left into parking space, even though it had pulled out right to give itself enough room. It didn't take much to anticipat Fiat's move. Camcar was just impatient.

Fiat even had their indicator on telling everyone they intend to take a space to the left, why try to over take on the side of them indicating?
@davesmith5482
@davesmith5482 Жыл бұрын
@@josephbooker179although this is largely the cammer's fault, the fiat should have waited to turn on their left indicator until they were already positioned on the right. I absolutely agree the cammer should have anticipated the obvious intent of a parking manoeuvre and it's a tiny fault on the part of the fiat, but the reason for a forward left bay park we don't indicate left BEFORE we move over to the right side is precisely because it can be misleading and cause this exact situation.

15:28 This was my Dad driving his friend home after a club meeting, I think in 2018/19. The driver of the Land Rover claimed that my Dad brake checked him but when the police looked at the Dashcam video and saw there was no deceleration. it was enough for the police to issue points. The landrover driver is well known by locals in the Coldstream (Scottish Borders) area It made me smile seeing this as my Dad passed away days before Christmas 2020 after a succession of illnesses.

As I said in another comment, 99% on the cammer but 1% on the fiat for the minor fault of indicating left first, then moving over to the right. This can be misleading and learners are taught for a forward left bay park you move over to the right position THEN indicate left for precisely this reason.

These incidents fall for the most part into one of two categories: an experienced driver can absolutely predict what's going to happen, or they are so surprising, no one could see them coming. Really makes me wonder whether to keep on driving - something's going to get you, and there's a very good chance it won't be your fault.

I would day they were both in the wrong. The cammer, aware of the indicator to turn left, should have held back to see what happens. Patience, and giving room for others, is the best way. I don't know why the other car swung so wide there, and that was wrong. But for the cammer to assume that the indicator was a mistake is silly.

9:14 I had a similar situation recently. There were roadwork traffic lights on a roundabout in a built-up area. After the roundabout the limit was 30, shortly after it hit 40, then 50 a bit further down. Of course, not many obey the rule and just go up to 50 straight after the roundabout. The three pricks in front of me in a BMW, Tesla, and a VM SUV were no exception. They started speeding off as soon as the light turned green, and the BMW in front went straight instead of keeping to the right. I naturally followed the signs and kept to the right driving 30, I took a look behind after passing the idiot train and I can see the BMW driver jump out to move the cones out of the way. I was laughing my arse off for a while after that. They caught up with me maybe a mile later as they were doing 65 in a 50, but in those situations I tend to just shrug it off with a "speeding is cheating".

An awful lot of drivers think that, just because the lights have turned green, they immediately have total right of way through the junction. All a green light means is 'proceed with caution' & you must still check that your way is clear. Insurance companies will often decide on mutual liability.

On the trailers. 1. You need nose weight. 2. Going up hill and accelerating, its more stable. Down hill and breaking is unstable. 3. Dual axle is better than single. 4. A short distance between hitch and rear wheel is better than a large boot. 5. Get an anti sway hitch, or a hitch that you keep grease free that clamps onto the hitch as a brake and stops the sway.

The Brits are OBSESSED with traffic arguments. Maybe because they spend so much time stuck in traffic, if they don't feel affronted something's missing from their grey, grey day

The cyclist on the way to Frilford Heath was insane - that's a busy road. I'm going to guess his brakes failed, because anything else broadly suggests some sort of suicidal intent.

#44 20:15 there’s no markings but not unusual as services cut everywhere. Both in the wrong imo as right hand lane lane in 3 lane approach should/would never be for the first exit as negates the need for a roundabout especially in this case where the first exit is straight on. Same goes for white car in the middle lane who likely didn’t know the area and naturally assumed the middle lane was for second exit. There are no visible signs on the clip but cammer Adrian overtook on a roundabout which never helps at those speeds
@bimbom1315
@bimbom1315 Жыл бұрын
That roundabout has terrible layout. It's a 3 lane exit which gives lane 3 the option to exit, but at the same time lane 2 continues on the roundabout after the exit which makes it look like lane 2 has the option to stay on. So easy to make a mistake on that one.

When people in traffic-accidents starts by saying a bit flamboyantly: "I've got that on camera!" You know THAT day is ruined. And most people really let themselves get worked up over the tiniest little thing. Get real folks. Go look for trouble elsewhere, that's right.

20:21 looks just like poor lane discipline by cammer? Would have thought the safe assumption would be that cars will continue round the roundabout? The opposite (exiting car drove into our offside door) happened to us recently at better-painted Longbarrow on A30 - sadly we didn't have a dashcam... must confess I'm half hoping it'll turn up in a compilation!

At best it's 50/50, thats if the other car is trying to go round the roundabout! But cammer defo partly at fault!

Clip 1: With a crossroads and horse riders sign, I might have been inclined to ease off the pedal a bit with an potential hazard in front. You had time to react, but I think that was more luck than judgment. Clip 2: I am always wary of overtaking unusual tall vehicles going under bridges. Glad the cammer was ok and the lorry driver was dealt with appropriately. Clip 13: Please buy a new dashcam Clip 14: Staggered formation at a roundabout is the only safe option. Let the other person go first if they are ready. They are probably a lunatic. Clip 16: You have dashcam footage - did you offer to provide it? Clip 30: I mean, it was a car park and you have eyes and supposed hazard awareness and could not work out what that car was doing? Clip 31: It is always best to avoid getting in the turning circle of a lorry. Holding back makes your journey quicker. Clip 32: My thought is too much speed, poor tyres and poor road conditions. And luck. Clip 33: Should anyone be driving if their brain cells have stopped functioning? Clip 34: Cammer had too much speed for to be able to stop in half of the observable distance. Clip 35: Always a good idea to maintain your speed when you can see a car approaching you in the same lane that you are in... Clip 36: A prime example of why you should never pull right up to the tail of a stationary vehicle. Leaving yourself gives you options in circumstances like this. Clip 44: Is the reason why I do not overtake moving traffic on a roundabout. Clip 47: I would say 50/50, but the motorcyclist is a complete arse. Clip 49: A whole load of things in that clip from all drivers that could have been better. Clip 53: Always keep the idiot in front of you where you can see them. Competing with someone lacking brain cells never achieves much. Clip 56: At least the music wasn't prophetic. I thought it was 2-way is the worst excuse I have heard for not checking mirrors. Clip 58: Ditto for clip 44 Clip 59: and as for undertaking on a roundabout... That van driver was so very lucky Clip 61: I would say that the Golf was undertaking - at the end of the day, this is not slow moving traffic. I have always found that maintaining speed while the traffic in lane 2 is not can be hazardous for multiple reasons. The accident was not the Golf's direct fault but I would say that they did not think about what might go wrong. Clip 63: I don't know where this is, but I must be sure to never go there. To find so many people who are unable to think for themselves in one place is quite scary. This is what happens when you delegate your thinking to the car driver in front. Clip 64: Driving like an idiot is bad enough. Driving like an idiot with your own company's details on the vehicle is a special kind of idiocy. Clip 65: Last five words on my previous comment apply. Clip 66: Whilst that Lorry was doing a stupid overtake, the cam driver clearly wanted to do battle with it. #deathwishcammer Clip 67: Is this just not an ordinary event in a multi-storey car park? I mean, did anything really happen here than a reasonable rational person would really get upset about. Time lost 15 seconds? Clip 69: always give way to both lanes on a multi lane roundabout. Depending on where the Audi joined the roundabout, it is likely that they were in the correct lane. Clip 72: Overtake was terrible, but the cyclists positioning adjacent to the centre line was also terrible. Clip 73: Overtake the bus if you can, but with oncoming traffic it was never going to be a clean overtake. This was a hurried overtake and passing a bus with the risk of someone crossing in front of it should be done with care and full awareness. Whilst the bus should have checked before moving off, I'm sticking this one on the van. Clip 80: Skycam Clip 81: Cars entering and emerging from a junction = hazard. I'd have eased off the pedal a bit. Clip 85: Well that was pretty obvious that was going to happen. Ditto to 81. Clip 87: Got a distinction in the 'How to cycle like a complete arse' class. Clip 90: Why was your following distance about 1.3 seconds? I'm not sure if it would have made much difference, but it might have made a massive difference. I reckon it took well over 1 second even just to react to the brake lights. Clip 91: Cammer seemed to be all over the road and not the best driving on here. Whilst not their fault, the clues were definitely there. Clip 93: Navcam. Clip 101: Cam car was also too close and too fast for those roads. Clip 102: Pedestrians on mobile phones are a danger to themselves. Clip 105: Stop listening to such utter crap. Clip 107: How? Why? Did you not know that you need someone with a licence to be with you on your first time behind a wheel? Clip 108: Land Rover driver needs to learn how traffic light controlled junctions work. You've probably got 2 hours out of me watching this as I watched many of these multiple times.

The first video - for god sake slow down, you can see a potential hazard up ahead - cross junction, two cars waiting to pull out, oncoming car that could block the vision of the red car pulling out and hey presto it did, the red car pulled out.

Cammer @7:50 is incorrect, the van's path across was legitimate on a 2 lane roundabout. Being in that left lane means either they are taking the 1st exit or the exit directly across the roundabout.

No, no, no... don't be stupid. Can I ask how long you've been driving? Actually, let me rephrase that: can I ask how long you shouldn't have been driving? That crash was going to play out exactly the same way, horn or not. The horn came after it had already started to happen. Entirely the fault of the retard in the Fiesta. The blue Vauxhall was following the bus which straddled the lanes, either turning narrow in the right lane or wide in the left lane. The blue Vauxhall was attempting to maintain a safe distance from the bus, as is correct procedure. The Fiesta not only pulled out into the roundabout when it wasn't clear in front of them, but also when it wasn't their right of way and there were cars approaching from the right, before failing to pay due care and attention ahead of them. Kate's horn definitely didn't help, but it DEFINITELY didn't cause the accident.
