As a Christian, it absolutely annoys the heck out of me when people see something and then feel the need to cite a verse as if that actually contributes anything. More often than not, those types of people don’t know how to actually think for themselves, and merely quote what was told to them. If you wanted to pull something out of the Bible, you could have at least gone with the New Testament. That is, unless you’re a devout follower of the old faith and all the old laws that Jesus made no longer mandatory. Considering you’re here on KZbin, I’m going to assume that is not the case. Odds are, you’re probably breaking at least 3 of those old laws right now, yet feel the need to point a finger at someone else. But even then, even if the verse you so brilliantly chose to pull out actually applied, ask yourself: “what good did it do?” Did anybody benefit from that? Did the commentator in question look at your verse reference with zero contribution added and say “oh golly gosh, I should change my ways.” Did it lift anybody else up? Or did the other empty head bobbers just look at your comment and say “amen” to fill the echo chamber? Paul has a lot of choice words about this kind of behavior, as does James. Highly encourage you to read their letters. While I don’t agree with the commentator’s personal life decisions either and think the health industry has done people like him an absolute disservice, throwing Bible verses at them does them no good for anyone. Do what Jesus said and love them. Care for them. Be the example they need to see, not the problem they already know exists.
