at this point is the 740 a better/more practical/low cost rally option than the 240 ???

newer 240s are still plentiful...also probably lighter than 740s

@@lobmin yes I just bought a nice condition 240 for my daily driver. Wanting to do a 240 rally build. Seems like b230ft engine would be the way to go. So maybe pull one out of a 740 and throw it in a 240 I guess.

@@blackedelweiss601 well yeah an FT would be the easiest way, if you can get your hands on one. Otherwise, an LT is pretty much the same thing on the inside, a few changes and you got an ft. Note: I'm not super into ohc redblocks but one of 240/740 have the engine wiring loom integrated into the car, if your 240's electronics are not fit for the new engine, you need the separate loom & computers to make it work Alternatively, find a 242gt engine (or a B23E..) and you have a good headstart for an n/a build
