Awesome. Just awesome! The Vulcan is the best display aircraft ever, bar none. Big, noisy and manoeuvrable - what's not to like? Remember the old days at Biggin Hill when it was allowed to fly down into the valley and leap into view from below the end of the runway? Happy days!

Yet more examples of when this country consistently punched above its weight and produced aircraft that were simply the best in the world.

My next door neighbour, Gordon Webb used to fly Valiants back in the Cuban Crisis days. He was such a brilliant pilot, but so modest.

Remarkable aircraft and amazing pilots! Love the Vulcan and Victor but so nice to see the Valiant performing. There is one at Cosford but it is suspended so high with other aircraft blocking your view that it is difficult to appreciate it. The Vulcan touch and go wheelie was fantastic!

Lovely to see. I had a family member who worked for Avro/Hawker-Siddely/BAe at Chadderton, where the Vulcan was built, before assembly and flight testing at Woodford. I got to go to a few open days at both factories, the highlight of Woodford being that there was a flying display, in the latter days by a variety of BAe aircraft. The Vulcan was always a favourite though. That howl! Got to sit in the cockpit of the one that is now a static display there (was flying at the time) with one of the chief test pilots from the early days of the project. Happy days.

Excuse my language, but eff me, they were amazing. Back when Great Britain meant something.

Oh for the days when the UK actually designed and manufactured wonderful machinery like these aircraft. All we seem to produce now is beaurocracy and projects which take for ever and earn nothing

This was GREAT Britain. Before ‘enrichment’ DEI and wokism. The 1950s were a golden age when nothing was ‘impossible’.

If anyone has a set of blueprints for a Vulcan, I think we could do with starting to build a few more. I wonder how many Storm Shadows she could hold.
