I have to say it: the one trying to defend witches selling spells irks me. I'm sure people pulling out the intentions argument aren't saying spell-sellers' intents are foul- but simply that a spell made by the witch themselves for their own needs is going to do the job a lot better than someone making cookie-cutter, blanket/umbrella spells that will probably work for basic wishes, but nothing more than that. But clearly this person has a store and they want to make money, and they felt threatened that they could lose patronage, so they tried to defend their work. Witchy businesses can thrive off selling supplies that other witches need and being inclusive to their wants and intentions- without selling spells. I've bought mystery boxes of materials and a pendulum from some wonderful shop owners, and if I had the money to burn, I would support them again and others. But I wouldn’t buy spells from them. But also you do you. (Also there was a case of a kid getting sick off halloween candy- but it wasn't from a random trick or treater. Let that sink in.)

@KittyWolves EXACTLY! They may have a one word explanation at BEST. One person's protection sigil may be for astral projection, another to protect their energy as an empath. You. Don't. Know. I think the best thing they're good for is maybe useful for seeing how to "customize" your own. Good for inspiration, but not mine to take.

@buggyolk and that's another point. There's a difference between- as I've been calling them, "cookie-cutter" spells and spells for friends or family. When you give them a protection spell, the intent is clear and if they're having a specific problem, it'll tackle that perfectly. I think it goes back to history. The cunning folk didn't ship off creams and tonics they made to towns far off, they took care of problems for their community. People they could see firsthand and focus on their problems. Like I said, I don't think witchy shops are bad, but pre-made spells are iffy, especially with technology and misinformation running rampant on Witchtok.

I think you can buy spells if you know you can't do it yourself and you really need or want it but you still have to be very careful because THERE ARE people who have put curses or obsession spells on the spells they're selling, usually those are people in spiritual psychosis but still.

@@lun43662 I will tell you this is Not the right spot to be asking this as it doesn't have much to do with any of the previous comments.. but since I am helpful and enjoy giving tips, find a nice tray, plate, or other thrifted is better and Literally all you need is moon related items, it's Really not that hard. And not to be mean or anything I really do like helping, but this is one of those things that you could've googled or come up with yourself.

I'm not a witch, but one thing i always do is if I have to step over a grave (for any reason like seeing someone elses grave), i say pardon or exuse me. I have always done it as a kid. No one told me either, i didn't learn it from anyone, I just have always felt uncomfortable stepping over a grave without apologizing.

for the second video : honestly there’s other reasons you shouldn’t buy spell jars. half of what makes spells work is going through the actions of doing it yourself, finding and using ingredients with your intentions, putting them in a jar, sealing it up, etc etc. just having it isn’t going to work because the effort and intention aren’t really there. if making a spell jar specifically is unavailable to you due to price, there’s plenty of cheaper options and ways to make spell jars. and on top of that, there are many spells that don’t require any materials or tools at all!
