I for one don't agree with it at all, no real evidence was ever shown, everything was just hearsay and people jumping on a hate train over sth they never personally saw any real evidence of, especially evidence that would hold in court - and the internet shouldn't be a magical backward place where the accused has to prove their innocence. the next thing is that "being sexually inappropriate with fans" from some internet community like youtube is not an illegal act, most certainly nothing Sjin' life should be half ruined over, and it is hard to tell but likely that these things start out mutual before the fan then suddenly comes back around and acts like they never liked it in the first place. you cannot rape someone over the internet, it simply doesn't work that way. the person can always just say "nope, I'm not interested" and the fact that sjin is a youtuber doesn't change that in the slightest

@@87TheMan87 that wasn’t what it was about, I think the whole thing was that it was against the yogs code of conduct or something for a creator to have a relationship with a fan. Probably because of the whole Ridgedog thing(Old Yogscast guy that helped set up gmod stuff. He got a fan pregnant then moved across the country to not pay child support. Nothing illegal, just scummy and something yogs don’t want to associate with.) I think the main thing is that Bouphe and Gee said that Turps and Sjin sexually harassed them in some way, i think there’s a tweet or reddit post out there from them about it. So it wasn’t ever really about legality or rape. Another thing is that I think Tom and/or Harry said that they were in contact with Sjin after he was kicked out and he didn’t seem apologetic at all. I also think MadCat said that Lewis didn’t want fan content to have any of the kicked out employees in it. I think it was originally just official Yogscast fan channels that followed the rule but most do it anyway.

I certainly miss him as a Yog, he was always entertaining to watch, but since we simply don't know the full story of what did or did not happen, and probably never will, there's not much point forming a strong opinion on the issue. The thing I do find a bit... odd though, is the blanked out nameplate. Basically pretending he doesn't exist, while at the same time still using clips that he's in. The tiny handful of people that would get highly offended if Sjin's nameplate _wasn't_ blanked, would more than likely also get offended at Sjin being in the video at all, so what's the point of blanking the nametag? Either save yourself the editing time and just use the original clips, without blanking the name, or go full purge and not use any clips containing Sjin (and cut your "Best TTT bits- archival footage" down by 80% since let's be honest, he had a hand in many of the best bits)

Calling him "[Redacted]" can be interpreted as a joke, which is horrible because it undermines the severity of his misconduct. However, some people just aren't comfortable with mentioning his name, which is understandable. I think it's an individual thing. Whether you can forgive him for what he did is one thing (and should be left to his victims imo). Whether or not you can separate the man from the character he played is another. Obviously, the people we watch and laugh with and who entertain us aren't the same people when they come off the screen, a truth so evidently presented by the thousands of fans that refused to accept the truth of his actions. We don't know these people. They are not our friends. They are not our family. They never will be. We cannot trust them. We cannot know them. We will never know them the way they know each other, and that's the sad truth of it. Coming to terms with somebody you trust and look up to not being who you thought they were is heartbreaking. It was for me. I looked to him the same way I look up to my parents, my friends, and my colleagues. He inspired me in a way. I can't look at myself sometimes without seeing the effect he had on me, and that scares me because I'm afraid that I'll do something like he did unknowingly and regret it for the rest of my life. Sjin was, just like every member of the Yogscast from Lewis and Simon all the way to Boba (the newest member iirc), a character, a persona, created by Paul Sykes to entertain people and to make a living. Not a single one of them is real.

I understand people not wanting to see Sjins name in the video or be associated with the yogscast but I don’t get why he shouldn’t be allowed to ever make his own content again. Everyone knows what happened to some extent, if they decide to watch his content that’s on them. You aren’t forced to watch it, no one is holding your eyes open and going to strap you to a board so you can’t look away. You can separate the content from the creator. We see this done with way larger public figures than a KZbinr. If you can’t, don’t watch it.
