This is one of the best comparison I've found. In my opinion the best quality/price is definitely the sennheiser mke 200

Really comprehensive comparison of these various mics. Good coverage of the most relevant points. Thank you for posting this! To my ears the Videomic NTG sounded the best.

The Rode sounds a lot better than the MKE 200. The MKE sounds similar to the inbuilt mic. Even the shake test is a lot better in imo.

Absolutely! The MKE sounds tinny too!

Great review. The Rode mics are too bass heavy. They all emphasize the lower frequencies too much. They should be more neutral. The Sennheiser 400 sounds very neutral. Despite being the oldest mic in your roundup, IMO the Sennheiser 400 sounded the most neutral and natural. The Shure VP83 emphasized bass less than the Rode mics and more than the Sennheiser 400, but it's not as neutral and natural as the Sennehsier 400. IMO the Sennheiser 400 wins your test.

Why is the use of a microphone for recording in nature not discussed when using the microphone in this environment? Many of us users do not film videos indoors :
@VideoGizmology3 жыл бұрын
Sorry Svabo, I can't please everyone's needs with my opinions in this review. I use these mics indoors, so that's why I'm addressing my experience with the mics indoors. I'm sure you can find other people using these mics in the outdoor situations you use them, KZbin has a lot of videos to choose from. Cheers.

Rode mic sounds more muddy. Personally I prefer the Sennheiser mics which sound more natural. Rode Mics sound like they've had Bass/Treble boost with compression.

It sounds a proximity effect, pretty much how studio condensers sound when you are to close. If you were a little further it wouldn't sound so bassy

There’s a new version of the MKE 400 that’s more like it’s little brother, the MKE 200.
