I really don't think one-and-done products can really be use as a single styler, for most curlies. They really don't have the holding power, except maybe for the Verb foaming gel or the Innersense foam. I haven't tried either of them yet, but I heard they are pretty good.

It's true, it's not for everyone. It's important to remember that a one & done/single styler will usually not give you the same results as layering products. In my opinion, it futile to expect a one & done to hold up the same, but it can simplify and speed up your washday.

I tried the CS frizz rescue but it made my hair a total ball of fuzz. I’ve never had my hair react that way. So weird as I have heard such good things about it.

Oh no! Did you try pairing it with the duo conditioner from that line? I know that doesn't make it a single styler if you do that. Maybe, another question to ask; do one and done stylers even work for you? There if you're in the transition phase or if you have very high porosity hair, you may not be able to get away with a one and done routine. Thank you for sharing your experience! 🙂

IMO opinion all you need is a cleanser, conditioner and a gel is a must to produce a cast(whether it’s a soft or hard cast)

Yes, that is a very great simple routine. I honestly love the mixing and switching a variety of products, so I enjoy trying two and sometimes tree stlyers. There are many, though, that need more moisture than what most gels can give. So a leave-in conditioner or a cream is necessary for their hair needs. Then there are some with extremely fine low density hair, that a gel just makes their hair look weighed down; so they prefer to use a mousse or foam instead.

Have you tried the Innersense I Create Definition foam? It’s seriously harder hold for a foam and I’ve been able to use it with a leave in. It’s lightweight and a major game changer for bad hair days.

I haven't tried any Innersense products yet, but I'm getting more anxious to try them. Since they are a bit more pricey, I'm basically waiting for a good sale.

@@lifeoffinecurls that’s fair. They’re pretty pricey. The I Create Definition foam is worth the money to me because it really is a hard hold foam. A little bit goes a long way and you don’t need hairspray. (Which is uncommon for me.) However, use caution the first couple uses, it can get quite hard if you use too much. I’ve used it with different gels and leave ins and have yet to see it impact the hold. I haven’t used many other Innersense products enough to have any of their other products blow me away. It's highly underrated in my opinion. If it hadn't been for M.A.D. Curls bringing it to my attention (and the fact that it is pretty cheap), I would have never known about it.
