I really like the wear sensor and the mike quality. Battery life is great. I charge them once every 2 weeks. The touch controls definitely aren't great, but for volume and track control, they are okay. The multipoint works perfectly with android, apple and windows. shokz openfit: I think mine broken now (right bud have some buzzing with stronger basses), because I used it almost always on full volume. Why? Because otherwise the noise around me (e.g. street) is too loud to listen to anything. However, I have found out that if the earbud would be like 5mm closer to the ear canal, it could run with like half volume, it would have better sound quality, and you could still hear your surrounding.

@insidetechltd Did you notice differences in audio speaker quality, when these headphones are connected to a PC (e.g. Teams)? I just bought the s50's and I have watched almost all reviews on it and many people mention the burn in of the buds... my question is, did you do the full burn in? @insidetechltd11 ай бұрын
Don't worry about it. This is the type of thing that can be useful for ultra high-end headphones, but it's not necessary here with these earbuds. The feature wasn't implemented specifically for the earbuds, it's a 1More feature they often add in to the app, but it makes a negligible amount of difference to the sound quality. I tested it out to completion purely for the sake of being thorough (and because 1More has a history of app bugs) but I couldn't hear any difference whatsoever. I've got a pair that I didn't do the burn in with side by side with the ones I did...no difference. So you can ignore it

Does the 1more s50 automatically switch to mono if you are only using one ear?
@insidetechltd5 ай бұрын
So what i've found is that if I'm using both and I put one back in the case, it doesn't always switch to mono. However if I only take one out of the case to start with, it'll be on mono. When I take the second one out it can take a while to switch over to stereo again. So I guess the answer is that you can definitely have mono playback using only one, but the automatic 'switching' is not very reliable

Open earbuds are great for cycling (and safe) but just not good for calls. If you still want an open design though, I think you could just get lucky and find a pair that's 'good enough'. Thank you so much for this video. Very insightful. You have provided feedback on multiple aspects for each of these ear phones. That's the best part. Some people like comfort, some others like sound quality and some others might look into the controls part. Your feedback on each of these - really helped us. My story goes like this. My initial pick was Soundcore aerofit and not pro. A very good one, lighter and splendid audio output. But it's too small to my ear. A perfect fit to my wife's ear though. So thankfully it is being used. I then bought Soundcore aerofit pro. Returned in a few hours. God, I cannot bear its weight. Your review certainly tells us it is heavier than the first 3. But you said you can wear it on your ears for a few hours if need be. That's impossible for Pro. If possible, please add Soundcore aerofit in your list instead of Souncore aerofit pro. I am big fan of open ear type. So I decided to see reviews on open ear earbuds. I picked yours and learnt a lot. Never ever knew JBL has an open ear type. Never ever heard of Shokz and 1more. My need is to have a lighter open ear earbuds, which is ligter, cheaper and yet very good in mic and sound aspects. I was tempted to go for shokz, but to me, I found it expensive. Compromised on 2 grams of weight and went ahead and bought 1more. Awesome pick. I am enjoying it. Thank you brother.

After watching so many reviews I see now that sound quality is subjective. I bought the Oladance OWS Pro and returned them because I also bought the Shokz Openfit and immediately loved the sound of the Shokz. It was very evident to me they had better sound, not even close. Yet here it is backwards. The Shokz got a really low sound quality score and the Oladance got top score. And here is another shocker for anyone interested in reading more. I really seek to find best sound quality on over ear buds. I don't like earbuds that stick into my ear canal. Therefore I've had a few: I even just bought the Bose Open Earbuds Ultra and was hugely disappointed, will be returning them. Every reviewer I saw said the sound quality was WOW on the Bose! They even compared it to the Shokz Openfit that I love and they said it beat the Shokz. So I bought it to try it for myself. I was really excited, something that will sound better then the Shokz?! Nope! Not to me. The Bose have a really sharp harsh sound, I don't like it, is that sound quality? They don't even have a nice bass sound like the Shokz. I've tried using the EQ but they are not even close to sounding as good and warm as the Shokz to me. Maybe I don't know what sound quality is but to me the Shokz Openfit have the better sound then the Oladance & Bose I've mentioned here. I have had and used all kinds of expensive earphones and still use some inside the ear earphones but very rarely this past year. I'm really into over the ear ones now. I’ve owned $500 wired in ear Shures 535, $400 Ultimate Ears Triplefi 10vi in ear phone buds, $550 AirPods Max, $250 AirPods Pro 2 and other cheaper ones. I hold these expensive models in high regards. The best one being the Shures 535. But what I’m striving for now is the best over earphone, not-inside you ear earphones. And it seems I will just have to try them for myself because everyone’s taste is subjective. In reality I really don’t need to keep searching because the Shoks Openfit really impress me. I think I just need to ignore reviews that say they are low sound quality and stop looking over the fence searching for a greener grass.

Thank you so much for the super thorough review, really great content! With what I have seen here, agree on the 1MORE being the best product overall. I am looking at some earbuds for working all day in the office or at home, walking / running and ideally, to also ski with them while wearing a helmet (hence the absolute necessity of open-ears for keeping situational awareness). Seems like the JBL's could grip the ear more, the Shokz's would interfere less with the helmet due to size, and the 1MORE's just in between these 2 in both categories (plus the larger ear gels for better grip)... A very specialized question but, do you think 1MORE's would ok in these scenarios, specially for skiing? At some degree, I guess the helmet would sort of lock the earbuds into place. Thanks again!
@insidetechltd11 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot! So although I agree with you about the grip on JBL, I would personally try and prioritise the comfort and fit underneath that helmet. JBL's might cause you an issue since they're thicker. The 1MORE ear hooks are actually even thinner than Shokz, so it might actually be those that fit best under a helmet. I'm not sure about your particular one, but I expect the helmet is going to press against any of the earbuds you try - so it might be the case that none of these is any good (sorry, I don't have a ski helmet to test this out and my bike helmet sits above my ears, so it isn't affected). You're right in that the helmet might 'lock' them into place but I do have some comfort concerns - just don't want you to be disappointed if they don't fit underneath!

I appreciate your reply. ! Thank you ! I need just for short calls, emergency calls when the postman give me a call etc not for chating. Just when i ride my bike to answer for very short calls and to listen some music at a decent quality and low volume.
@insidetechltd7 ай бұрын
In that case I definitely think these will offer the better sound quality you'd like over the opencomm. Hopefully they'll be fine for those occasional calls too 👍🏼

how good is the audio compared to normal buds? meaning: is the 5 of the shokz worth a 5 on the normal earbuds scale or is it more like a 3?
@insidetechltd10 ай бұрын
Open-ear audio is considerably less immersive and less rich in bass compared to in-ear designs. It's a very different experience and hard to compare directly. Remember that the '5' in this video only refers to 5th place out of these 5 featured earbuds. It's not a score out of 10

Tozo Openbuds, although it's at a cheaper range, but it's almost the most consistent in terms of sound and mic performance.. try that out guys!

Already tried! A good option for the price, but not as good as these 5
@VICMANROQАй бұрын
@@insidetechltd I beg to differ, I tried the Shokz and they would not stay on my ear. Tozo is a better fit and sound quality is more clear.

Oladance has a 'noise screening' feature, similar to ANC. But it's very subtle, so for the sake of ease the answer is "no" - none of these has ANC

You should also rate affordability and how expensive they are. Otherwise I still have to look these all up individually
@insidetechltd2 ай бұрын
I think looking them up individually is always a good idea, since prices fluctuate over time, by region and by available discounts. It would be impossible to give accurate pricing information in the video since it always changes

Uggh i really need a pair of this style this saturday weirdley my galaxy buds started to itch sefully bad to the point of not being able to use them. Luckly i had a pair of big wireless headphones and im good with them but i need something more portable for outside of home. Something which wont burn my ears so i need a pair of this style just need to check the ones which ill sacrifice sound the least. That itch made me want to say goodbye for good to in ear. Its strange i just got this reaction since never had it before with in ear earphones or buds. But suddenly this saturday couldnt stand my buds. So i think open ear are my best option for home use ill stick to my over the ear cheapies but i need something similar to keep in my purse. The the closest to over the ears are open ears.

@insidetechltd5 ай бұрын
Honestly it depends on how loud you have them. If you're sat in a quiet place, then probably yes. But generally I would say it's not bad. Maybe walking past someone they might briefly be able to hear you're listening to something, but I wouldn't say that's an issue

I have tried most of these, oladance, shokz etc and have to say, they are all complete rubbish when compared to the tozo O2 open ear. The tozo produced real sub bass, and when compared to the likes of my B&O BEOPLAY ex earphones provide a very similar dynamic experience. The tozo are amazing and anyone considering buying one of the expensive (popular) brand versions should buy a tozo as well... The tozo is less than £60 and will blow your mind, even the microphone test I did was great. This review has only focused on popular brands and as such has completely missed a true magical product, which the tozo is... The tozo is the only open ear design I have found with the flexibility to adjust it's position on and within the ear. This is what makes them amazing... Please buy them and thank me later... In terms of this review, the 1more sound the best sound (tozo is vastly better though) the oladance has ok sound but a nice open feel to the sound. The shokz simply suck!!! Not as much as their bone conducting models though which are atrocious...
@insidetechltd4 ай бұрын
I tested the Tozo open ear earbuds for this video...I just found the other 5 better. It's nothing to do with popular names at all - the earbuds I find best make the video. That's all

1MORE and Shokz not at all. The others...possibly. I personally find them ok even with glasses, but some may find the thicker ear hooks more annoying
