Found your video looking for a new cord reel for the garage. Ironically the one which I had that just died is the Exact Bayco model that you show there in your video! Mine lasted only about 5 years before dying.

Easy to recommend a product you got for free.

Greg, thanks for weighing in and sharing your thoughts on this. From time to time, we have companies provide equipment to us. We don't accept it unless they agree to two conditions: 1. We say whatever we want to say and give honest feedback to them and our viewers, and, 2. We think it will be a good product to begin with that solves legitimate problems or inconveniences that we and others like us encounter. That cord reel is high quality and it the best that we've used to date and we were glad to let others know of our positive experience. While we got the product, we don't make commissions and the like on it. Best Regards, DFJ

dam man hold the camera still! Good info but could not watch due to headache. An investment in a tripod would be nice.

Cord reels are a bad choice for any high power demand electric motor like a saw. They work well for supplying power to things like lights, fans and small handheld power tools or soldering irons. I avoid using them in my workshop as most of my power tools like my saws and routers need a more robust electrical power supply.

Good insights. Indeed, the risk is that people end up using a form of an extension cord for the power supply for stationary or semi-stationary power tools. That can certainly lead to problems. Thanks for giving more detail! Best, DFJ

If you use a cord that has #12/3 awg wire, you can run any 120v saw no issue.
