Truly amazing minis here, but I think Cosmic Justice is my favourite. Love the colour scheme as I use purple/green quite a bit, but also just the creativeness, I'd have never thought to add extra wings upside down, it really works.

Very nice miniatures on display here! I recently watched a Vince Venturella video where he was adamant that all miniatures, without exception and upon pain of death to do otherwise (ok, maybe not quite that far), should be based with painted black rims for aesthetic reasons. I mention this because all of these have black rimmed or entirely black bases. This worries me because I like brown, specifically Mournfang brown. I tried a few different colours on my early models, including black, but decided, unbiased and uncomplicated by internet opinion, that I liked the warm, earthy mid-brown. I only bring this up because this year, or maybe next, I'd like to enter a local completion, and now I think my mini will be be judged poorly, regardless of the model's paint quality just for having brown rimmed bases ... and knowing this, I still don't like the black rim cliché and can't bring myself to change the colour! Something of a quandary! Sorry for the ramble!

I do not think, if the overall appearance of the miniature is fantastic, the trim base colour matters at all. I have seen beautiful blue trimmed bases, and, this year, a sparkling gold trimmed base, and bases trimmed the same colour but a little darker than the colour of the environment. The black is the quickest clean-up and does look good, but I wouldn't restrict myself to it, by no means. Much more important to do everything with crisp, clean lines and great colour theory :)
