i find the kum longpoint better for some graphite pencils and not colored pencils. I agree ,one has to know the pencils and cp’s ….trial and error, which ends up with a collection of sharpeners. is there a brand name for the one you use?

The pencil sharpeners you use at the end are for graphite & are for long points. Derwent makes a battery electric pencil sharpener that runs slow. Not bad for some stronger wax pencils. I have a old Panasonic electric pencil sharpener that's great for everything of normal pencil width (they definitely don't make them like they use too). Best hand-held for all xolor pencils: I recommend Faber-Castell's basic. You can pickup extra blades at places like dick-blick.
