Hi guys! Today I'll try to tell you how I choose reptiles species for myself. I think the way I do select my animals works in general and that I would like to share in this video! .)

That's a very nice video. Do more like this and don't worry about your English, you know Hungarian, I know Spanish. Not everybody speaks perfect English, not every American know Hungarian or Spanish my fríend. You are able to communicate and show your passion for reptiles. That's the main deal. Hablamos luego mi amigo.

Cheers man! So nice to read such comments :) Feedback like yours and the peoples' who comment on my videos make me want to create more like this. This vlogging thing is pretty new to me but I'm sure the quality of these videos will go up just like I upped the quality of the other kind of videos I release. Back in my gamer days I spoke very good English because I have been gaming with British people. It has been like 8 years back when I had to actually speak English so I need that practice ;)

Very true. I had 2 Savannah monitors as my very first pet lizards. Now they are at a point that there is no way for me to feed them solely on insects, just impossible. Had to mix ground turkey, eggs, chicken hearts etc. If I knew this earlier, probably won't get Savs. Another factor I found important is climate; it's much easier if where you live is similar to where the reptiles are from. save a lot in electricity and more natural for them to thrive

I can feel you Terry Wang! It is insane how much these animals can eat. You are very lucky that your savannah monitors' stomachs can handle meat. One of my savy can't even digest anything but insects. I think exactly what you just wrote ... I'm not sure I would buy another savy after this ... I love the species, they are my puppies but they are a nightmare to sustain :D

Thank you Scales13. I'm glad you find it informative for newcomers, I wasn't sure if I could express the meaning of what I wanted to tell but I'm happy now :) About my tegu: I started to work with her every single day and I think now she is my calmest animal from all :)

I love your channel!So much new and useful information.I'm trying to watch it with automatic Russian subtitles))Excellent rating format+all your reptiles are available in our country(this happens quite rarely).Please answer the question. Is it worth keeping a group of ring-tailed monitor lizards 1 male+1 female(or is it better to keep 1 male-2 females)?What size should a terrarium be for a couple?Thank you, I hope that you will continue your work.

I think it really doesn't matter regarding the number of females. Some says that if you want to breed your ackies it's best to keep breeding pairs. I keep 3 females and a male together and they breed however the egg laying is problematic with so many animals because they bother the eggs the females that want to lay etc. For a pair I would say a 120cm long 50 deep 50 tall enclosure would be great.

Finally was able to watch this video. I was looking forward to it. School work got me busy and I'm stuck home so these videos entertain me. I know I've said this before but I really can't wait to acquire another ackie eventually. The pandemic is slowing the process down, but eventually it will be time. Also I like that you've mention that not all tegus are the same. Its easy to believe all Argentine are puppy dog tame, because most videos seem to portray them that ways. I have a colombian tegu and most portray them as poor pets, because they are generally WC and that they can never tame down. Most of these ppl never owned one, but just listen to others. I've met other colombian tegu owners that are mix, some are tame and others not so much. My girl is not the tamest, but is not aggressive as ppl think, she tolerates things. Anyways as always great videos. Are you going to do more projects like the one you did for your savanna monitor (the basking platforms)? I really like that and I'm thinking of doing something like that for my bearded as it gets older.

Thank you so much! Yours is a perfect example to what I was trying to state in this video. If you would ask multiple ppl if colombian tegus are good pets most would say NO and go for Argentine species ... but you are perfectly fine with yours. Or some people would say (with all the good reasons) that you shouldn't buy crocodile monitors but for some people they can be the perfect pets. Maybe those people can read reptiles perfect or simple they want them as display animals (as they should) or they might get a 1 in a million .... a puppy tame ... About your question. I'm doing a big project for my tortoises where you will some techniques you'll probably find useful for your care too :)

Hello, nice video as always! I have a question, i know you live in Hungary, i am from Serbia and i was wondering where have you bought your ackies and is there a difference between yellow and red ackies?
@projectpet78284 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks man! :) We have multiple breeders here in Hungary, if all goes well I'll have ackies myself in late May / early June too. There is a huge difference between red and yellow ackies both in appearance and price too. Red ackies are more bulky and the pattern of their skin is more characteristic. Also red ackies can be really red while yellow ackies are more like brownish. Red ackies are much more rare, for example here I never even seen one :(
