great video! New sub its amazing the reptile room you have is one from my DREAMS. great content and love the effort and enthusiasm you put into your videos. The lizards have a very lucky and hard working dad to care for them. One question is which lizard would you recommend for a reptile enthusiast who is looking for a larger lizard to add to the family. (I have 2 crested geckos, a royal python, a bearded dragon and a hermani testudo) Great channel and cant wait for you to take over the KZbin reptile community . defiantly telling my fellow reptile keepers about you.
@projectpet78284 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much and welcome aboard! :) It's lovely to hear that you like my content and I hope I can keep the quality up and my videos will keep you entertained in the future. About your question: It depends how big of a lizard you would like keep. If you want to get only one step further I would say start with an ackie monitor. It's certainly bigger but not that big. They are inquisitive and friendly and easy to keep. If you want a little bigger than that Green Tree Monitor or Kimberly Rock Monitor could be a great choice as well. They both need bigger/taller enclosures and they are more expensive too but they are beautiful and not hard to keep either. If you want to go even bigger than that you have to think about how much space you can offer to your animal because monitors like for example a Savannah Monitor require a huge space.
@liamwilliams29534 жыл бұрын

@@projectpet7828 I wish I had learned about these worlds when I was a little younger. I would love to have a taegu or a monitor or an emerald tree skink or any of these amazing things I've learned about since watching KZbin channels about reptiles and the people that love them. I'm just going to have to be happy with a jumping spider. It's a very short commitment and they don't require a whole lot of fancy housing. They just seem to like to hang on and hang out with whoever owns them. All right should rephrase that. We don't own them we borrow them.

@@projectpet7828 look at the blaberus cockroaches. There are some really nice ones. If you can get hold of the true blaberus craniferii. They grow kinda large. Would be a good meal. If not look at B. Discondalis. Good growth easy to get and breed. Grow to a really good size. If you wanna try something even better there is archimandrita tesselata. A huge cockroach. I breed these for a very long time. They have some disadvances to blaberus spieces. Not many breed them which pushes the prices up. Two they grow slow. Like really slow. But when you get a full grown one they are amazing. Feed them to bearded agames And they went into frenzy mode on these one. The size really matters. One other plus is. I'd you wanna sell them. I could sell them instant. And a grown would go for around 1.5 eu.

As always great video. And I do prefer watching god care videos or upgrade videos rather then watching someone buy a new animal with little preparation. Though for your tegu I was confuse on the name as Tupinambis are colombian tegus. Argentine falls in the Salvator family, but its minor details. I do love the ackies as always though it made me sad as I did loose mine. It it still hurts, I will eventually get another when I'm ready (not any time soon) as I really miss the species. Though I have upgraded ideas for an enclosure with a new, but that far in the future. Can't wait to see more good stuff from you :)
@projectpet78285 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much, I'm happy that you see reptile keeping the same way as I do :) Tupinambis merianae is the scientific name of the Argentine Black and White and Tupinambis rufescens is the red one. I'm sad to hear you lost your ackie, I advice you to get a new one even tho you still feel your pain. I'm 1000% sure that a baby ackie will cheer you up! I'm actually thinking about getting another trio just because I love the species so much :D

@@projectpet7828 Thank you! I just mention the scientific family because down in the US Tupinambis are colombians and Salvator for their bigger cousins Argentine, red. Now gotta go through these names lol. Do not want to give wrong information. Again thank you!

Hey dude, weird question but there's alot of conflicting information so i just want your two cents on this question: When argentine black and white tegus are adults do they require bugs? Thanks :)
@projectpet78284 жыл бұрын
Hi man! Well they do not require insects but it is very healthy for them. Insects are an excellent source of protein, your animal will never get obese from insect diet and hunting live insects gives a large amount of enrichment to your reptiles. I know it is not the most cost effective way of feeding but from time to time it's worth to offer them this form of diet.
