Ever since the work from home became the new normal due to covid-19, everyone has been willing to work from Himalayas or shift to Himachal. We experimented the same, though for 4-5 days only. We visited Dharamshala on the weekend of 17-18th Oct and stayed at Ghoomakkad for 5 days. Along with exploring some nearby treks, we also experimented Work from Himachal.
Ghoomkkad is a co working space, with high speed jio fibre internet connection, based in Rakkar near Dharamshala, where people come and stay for short/long term and work from the space available. You get access to community kitchen, co working space along with the accomodation with an amazing view of Dhauladar mountains.

Love and respect for gaddi (shepherd) community. Iss jaati ka prem goats aur sheep k liye. Ye hi asal me khoobsurati hai gaddi community aur himachal ki ,unke liye sirf insaan hi nhi ,nature ,birds animals sab kuch hai . Himachalis log samjhte hai k insaan akela nhi hai dharti par ,sabhi ka yogdaan itna hi mahatwapuran hai jitna insaan ka. Love nature and himachal.

Beautiful, interview was simple but inspiring. You are lovely and truthful personality. I visited Dharamshala twice and stayed in Government guest house not in city but far away side. Very beautiful guest house. I was told that most of hostels are owned by Gaddi people as they have lots of money. They are like Marwadis, business personality. Also stayed in Cantt with a relative. In 1990, I visited Chamba and Bharmaur area that too in second week of November. So, first time seen Gaddis moving towards lower hills. Also visited Manali, kullu region twice. Shimla area once. So our Himachal is one of the best in Earth. Anyway,

सर् kangra के नीचे try करते तो बहुत सस्ते में living cottage मिल जाता मैं खुद रह चुका हूं two year तक। अब मैं फिर से सौच रहा हु kangra vally के आस पास कोई कॉटेज सस्ता सा मिल जाये। धर्मशाला के नाम पर लूट मचाई है। very expansive fare। ये लोग अंग्रजो से बहुत charge करते हैं वो ही रेट आपको लगा दिया। try to another option।

Dear All, Avoid this place at every cost. THIS IS A REALLY VERY BAD AND EXPENSIVE PLACE. Avoid this falsely marketed place…owner has given everything on lease to others who misbehave with people. No quality control. Internet is pathetic. In main dharamshala places have jio fibre with 100 MBPS speed. This place does not have that. Remote place - no taxis available. One guy they call who will ask exorbitant prices and even misbehave. Please avoid. I had bad experience.
