The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis are a strange natural phenomenon that can only be witnessed in the most northern regions of the globe. We had the once in a lifetime opportunity to go to Yellowknife Canada and watch the best aurora of the entire year so far. It was truly a magical moments that no words will ever be able to describe. This is a moment I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Boy do Alaska and Northern Canada show the northern lights right for people who want to see them in North America. I spent 25 years of my life living in the frozen north lands and I tell you what, there was some absolutely spectacular displays up there. Fairbanks Alaska is pretty great to see them in January, they also have hot springs close by which is a pretty killer combo.

Amazing, I was lucky enough to film the solar eclipse recently but that looks like another "must see" one to do for sure. I saw them in Finland once but very very faint. Excellent coverage Christian. :-)

I saw the Northern Lights twice while flying on Japan Airlines from Helsinki to Tokyo just as we enter the arctic circle over russia in winter. I was able to film it brightly on camera but with the eye it's very hard to see in the aircraft

We were up there all summer, got to experience the Aurora Magic many, many nights. So beautiful, such an AWE INSPIRING moment, which can happen so fast and like you said from any where in the sky above. Working on my time-lapse photography of the way too many photographs.

I drove from calgary about 4 years ago we were driving in the pitch dark, we stopped to use the washroom and the whole sky lite up in the northern lights first time ever seeing them and didn't even know it was about to happen lol they're insane !

I've been lucky enough to see the Northern Lights twice this year. Once in Fairbanks, Alaska and the other in Iceland. In Iceland it was so powerful that we even saw red bands in it.

That was awesome! Great history, great scenery, Northern Lights and a flight on a Twin Otter. (Sorry, I still have jet fuel in my veins.) The Northern Lights are much more impressive than the Marfa Lights. The Northern Lights are explicable, the Marfa Lights not so much. Thank you for showing us. Stay Lost.
