I used to stay with my Gran in Wessex Oval almost every summer growing up. I live in Maryland USA, but I was born in Poole. She would stick me in school when I was bored! My best buddy from childhood still lives there. Also I would go to Stephen Gilliam’s Christian summer camp, Maria. We used to eat at that chip shop and eat it at the Quay.

@@LilyoftheValeyrising Wow, small world, my Dad actually lives in Wessex Oval now 🙂 The chip shop in Wareham is an institution in my family - at various times in our youths myself, my Mum, Dad and Aunt all worked there! Thanks for watching, I hope it brought a little Wareham nostalgia all that way to Maryland!!

Greeno, that was a beautiful video. Your quick tour and description of the town before getting to the food was lovely. Some people might call that meal a "salad", I would call it a "feast"! It looked amazing.

As one of my early videos I was quite proud of it, although I am proud of my hometown too… it might be a quiet, unassuming market town now, but it’s had quite the past, from the scene of Viking invasions, the site of a Royal Mint, burial place of a king, hangings by Judge Jeffries, a great fire, Greeno playing for the local football team, it’s had it all!

Not quite correct about the Kings Arms being the only thatched building in that part of town. There's one about four doors away, and one around the corner in Cow Lane. There is also another near the main church.

Oh yes, I forgot about the one above the Pandada. Didn’t know there was one up Cow Lane, must be up the far end somewhere? And also not aware of one by Lady St Mary’s. I stand corrected 😀

@@GreenoEats The one in Cow Lane is at the footpath end of Tinkers Lane. Right by the church yard on the corner.

Yeah, for such a small market they have some good produce. And that bakery is immense. The sourdough still going strong for my toast this morning!!
