Omg ok. THIS match.. my goodness. My first Wimbledon match ever seeing live - 5th row and possibly THE most exciting match I have ever watched. We were all scaaaaa-reaammming and jumping out of our seats in that 3rd set. Really amazing to witness live, I'll never forget it.

Sabine "the Cannon" Lisicki, still holds the women's records for most aces (27) in a match and fastest recorded serve (131mph).

The final was hard to watch. I didn't mind Bartoli winning, but goodness, Sabine could not function.

yeah i liked both players and at the time, i didnt mind sabine losing because i thought she may have another chance the next year or so but she has proved me so wrong due to her injuries and lack of consistency. i know it is slim but i am really hoping she can have one last good run at wimbledon or even win it.

@@tranquilizer3060 At her best like this she was unbeatable. She wears her heart on her sleeve and is quite sensitive emotionally which makes her endearing to watch but maybe downside for consistency in her tennis.

I'll never understand how she lost to Bartoli after this Wimbledon run. It was hers for the taking.

It was her first grand slam final, and she couldn't manage it as well as Bartoli.

Because she wasn't The Championships final material. Radwanska choked, that's why Sabine was in the final.

Was just saying that to myself, especially after she beat Serena. Maybe she could only handle so much and she became satisfied after beating Serena. Some people only have so much to give and all l can figure is that ultimately the moment was too big for her. Lisicki did have a reputation for succumbing to nerves during some of her matches
@jgunner943 жыл бұрын
@@gregoryphillips3969 She was very nervous I think in the beginning and she was nearly bursting to tears at one point in the final. She did try and make a comeback towards the end but Bartoli was too far ahead stood her ground and closed it out.
@gregoryphillips39693 жыл бұрын
@@jgunner94 Agreed, but she had more talent than Bartoli. Wimbledon was there for her to conquer. Too bad the l might never be in this position again speech couldn't bring her to the level needed.

They just uploaded a best points of Serena vs. Watson and almost the entire video was points of Serena losing. Serena dictates her matches, win or lose. Serena is going to hit more winners and more errors if she’s not playing well.

i felt that Serena was very tentative and uncertain in this match. her footwork deteriorated quickly and she wasn't loading properly for her shots. on the other side, Lisicki played (by far) the best-managed match (- and especially at a grand slam tournament) of her entire career.
