Interesting review, but the outdoor camping environment can be much different than your test. How does that stove work if it's in the wind?
@ManontheOutside8 ай бұрын
I don't think any stove works that well in the wind tbh, even my Jetboil blows out in strong winds and that's got a super strong flame. So I also use a windshield with it (you can see this in some of my other videos - I use a 10-plate foldable shield that sticks in the ground). Works pretty well for me.

Am considering one of these, but what is it's the lowest simmer like? For cooking food without burning it and not just boiling water. How fuel-hungry is it? Did you/can you weigh a new gas canister before and after boiling water at a good burn. Have also been considering the Alpkit Koro - I know it's a higher price point at £48
@ManontheOutside3 жыл бұрын
I cooked a couple of fillet steaks on it and some gnocchi and veg on my last video if that helps. I had the veg simmering for a bit so it is more than capable of low heat. I've not properly weighed the cannister but I've cooked about 3 meals on it and it feels about 3/4 or 4/5 full still. I would think it uses a lot less than my Jetboil, that runs away with gas. I'll probably do an updated review where I'm using it in the field at some point. TBH the cannisters are so cheap now that I don't worry too much and just have a few spares in the car - Home Bargains have just started selling big long 631ml cannisters for £1.99 so you really can't go wrong at that price. I also find that with Amazon gear, you can send it back on the flimsiest of excuses so it's virtually a no-risk purchase. I must admit I'm very impressed with it, especially at that kind of price point - I didn't think a stove that cheap would be any good but it's proved itself off. I plan to use it later this week on a camp so I'll video that.

Ok vid. 💪 But is this is the BEST gas stove ? Or is the the ONLY one you (ever) tried out / owned ?
@ManontheOutside Жыл бұрын
I'd say the best one I've ever owned if you weigh up price, portability, and size. I've owned quite a few gas stoves, I have 3 now (2 CampingGaz and a Jetboil, which is basically a stove if you remove the pot). I find myself using this one more than any due to it's size and portability. Stows nicely away in a pack and doesn't use up much space.

I just connected a new Coleman gas tank and there seems to be no gas getting through.....any ideas? I've opened the gas to fully open
@ManontheOutside Жыл бұрын
Is it a new gas cannister? I'm guessing it's got gas in? Butane or propane? Butane struggles to run in low temps, I tend to use propane for that reason. Definitely fully engaged the screw on part of the stove tight enough? Also try another stove (e.g. a Jetboil) to eliminate any issues with the stove valve..

Is it stable, could you use a cast iron smaller pot on that one?
@ManontheOutside Жыл бұрын
It's very stable, obviously you've got to be careful with big pans and cooking in a small space. But I also have a jetboil and it's as stable as that.

Is this gonna work with one of the tall coleman cannisters?
@ManontheOutside8 ай бұрын
I would say no (but am not 100% sure). I know from experience that Coleman cannisters have weird fittings that don't seem to work on non Coleman stoves. I don't buy them for that reason.

I see exactly same stove in Amazon... I'm from india I think many companies selling this types of pipe attached stove for camping... I am planning to buy one from nearstop available in Amazon so is it good for 1 week camping with 4-5 canister?
@ManontheOutside Жыл бұрын
It depends on how much you cook with it, obviously, I used it for a couple of days camping recently and I was still on the first cannister, so 4-5 would probably be OK.

Where is the adapter for Coleman propane canisters?
@ManontheOutside2 жыл бұрын
I think this takes EN417 fittings, so I only use it with Jetboil or Decathlon cannisters, you'd need a separate adapter for the Colemans I think. I have a couple of small stoves and I don't think any of them fit Coleman canisters.

Myself I would boil water in a frying pan and just throw a palm of coffee in the morning and pour it drink and enjoy the outdoors it's not rocket science it's coffee ☕ or tea 🍵 or whatever myself I use instant nescaffee or freeze dried coffee so much easier and the pan is already heated for the scrambled eggs and becon and cheese sandwiches 🥪

Funny you picked a cruise spot to camp. How much are the jetboil stove you were cooking with? I’m still struggling to find a vehicle to convert 🥺🥺🥺
@ManontheOutside3 жыл бұрын
I actually found the spot on the Park4Night app the next day (which I didn't know about), and no mention of cruising at all...I added a note on the app to give people a heads up 😀 I paid about £80 for the Jetboil 4 or 5 years ago. but I think they're around £120/£130 now. My brother has an OEX one I think which is much cheaper and basically does the same job, think he picked it up from Go Outdoors for about half the price of a Jetboil. Then you also have more basic things like the Terra Hiker stove (I've done a review of mine if you search through the videos) - they are just a very basic stove (cost around 20 quid), but you don't get the built in cooking pot so not as convenient as the Jetboil. On the subject of finding vehicles, there's a massive shortage at the moment and prices have really gone up - I think all these lockdowns have encouraged people to holiday at home and buy campers/vans to convert, which has created a shortage and pushed up the prices. I expect when overseas holidays become the norm again, we'll see a lot of campers and vans going cheap.

That sounds like a good price! They are a great stove, just make sure to turn them down when cooking food, as they're super quick at cooking and tend to burn things easily.
