The key to play possession based football, you have to be aware of your player positioning, being patient to wait for the space open up. Also, Keep it Simple, don't be afraid to pass the ball backward to force your opponent push further, and sudden change of your passing tempo to attack the space.

The faster you push the ball forwards, the faster it’ll come back at you. Stay patient, make the pitch wide in possession and narrow out of possession and use numerical advantages in areas of the pitch where the oppositions formation has numerical weaknesses.

So insightful, I've always felt too that for possession or loads of chance creations my sides had to have a DMF (or CMF, depending on his defensive skills) as an orchestrator! Will definitely try this, I've been trying counter-attack for way too long (another tactic formation inspired by you for pes 2020) and it has been working well for so many games. Gold!

For sure this formation has too much pressure, especially if we consider that we have six players in the midfield line. Just two more things to add to this formation: First, the DMF has to be close to the defensive line, so as to be able to cut any through balls. Also, it is not advisable to apply to him the Anchorman tactics, so as to cover the wings in case you lose the ball while your players are up front. Second, whoever uses this formation has to place in the wings players with very good stamina, as it draws down very quickly having to cover the full field in length many times. As for your question, I like this form of the video, as you are able to emphasise with more accuracy and show what you want to point easier. Have a nice time, mate.

In online matches there is a problem if the opponent plays widely with wings there are always open areas behind my wings, and he can score, and i can't mark his attacking wings because that will make huge open areas in counter attack.

@@محمودخوجه91, I know that. In fact that's why I said not to apply the Anchorman advanced tactic to the DMF, so as to be able to cover the wings if need be. Make sure that he's fast, though, speed and acceleration in this scenario is a must. Also, I don't play online, as in online matches the behaviour of the AI and the players is much different. This tutorial was for offline matches. Have a nice time, mate! PS: It's very difficult to write in the Arabian way, but I think I was successful (lol).

Thanx for replying, i solved the problem of open areas behind the wings. I didn't mark any players of the opponent. So my team was strong and free to play. And i added some edits in advanced setting instead of "wing rotation" i make it "hug the side line". And i made the attack area "wide" So i can play on sides with Sterling and Mahrez. But 90% of my online matches are draws 😂😂 I always have possession but I'm not effective to make chances to score 😣

Hey Spoony! Why not use a fluid formation and turn wide midfielders into wingers while in possession and back into wide midfielders when out of possession? Also, wouldn't it be helpful to have the midfielders spread across the horizontal lines to create more triangles?

I'm really enjoying legend difficulty, their attacks are really intelligent but it really doesn't matter. Just play what you enjoy and I'd recommend avoiding a level where you win every game.

@@SpoonyPizzas thanks i think legend is too much for me. I can win games but cpu seems very OP even the lower teams are playing tiki taka and striker turns and shoots and rarely misses the mark. Pressing is useless too as they are passing accurately and shielding very very good. Superstar is i think easy 🤔 is there a level in between lol

@@dual_5928 haha, I believe there should be a level in-between as I know a lot of folk are in that position. I'd advise making the step up and keep persisting with it. It was a tough ride at first and if I'm lacking practice but you'll be a better player for it.

His compactness is around 5 bars, do you think that will impact the defensive shape too much? Do you have it at 1 bar so that the CBs can be wide enough to mark 3 forwards? Thx

Do you need to be in possession attack style if you have tiki taka enabled? I always thought that tiki taka took over whatever attacking style you have picked. Because of this ive always thought it would be more effective to have counter attack enabled. That way you can change between possession and counter attack whenever you turn on tiki taka. Is there a difference between possession or counter attack when tiki taka is on, or do they behave the same?

Ok, so let me explain differences first. Counter attack = players flood forward fast as soon as you get possession of ball. Therefore you'll most likely using throughball to advance but will lose the ball often but have a chance to catch your opponent will fewer players in defence. Possession = players come short, fast counter attacks are difficult to pull off but retaining possession is easier. You'll use normal passes generally and through balls to bring deeper players forward. Tiki taka, when a player receives the ball, players nearby will come close/short. This is great for giving you options on the ball but can be frustrating when you're close to a striker and you want him to run in behind defence but instead he comes short cuz tiki taka. Hope this helps mate

@@SpoonyPizzas thanks for the response! So if we have counter attack as our main attacking style and we have tiki taka as an advanced tactic. We can essentially switch between players making long runs and coming up close for passes. I feel like this can have advantages because In certain situations you don’t want your player to be making runs especially if you want to retain possession in certain moments of the game.

No mate,.it's the spread across midfield that's important. Obviously means the defenders are a part a bit which can be risky but long balls easier to deal with if you defend properly like in video

Hi mate, CA obviously suits your game better. CA just means players flood forward quickly...can leave you exposed if you lose ball. Possession more secure but play has to be much slower and methodical.
