I did this but I used XT60 connectors instead of regular barrel connectors. They can take more amperage but you need some solder skills...Great video brother!!

@GGM thats awesome.. thats similar to another unit i posted about, also the Bitmain L3+ PSU on 120v supports up to 1,000w and on 240v 1600w they go for like $30-50 on eBay maybe cheaper now, but yeah got to have some skills to getting it going .. as for the variable adjustable regulators the one i posted about comes with the power plug built it and the DC post protected so a little more safer for a few dollars more.

I've had AL0's and KS0 Ultras connected to meter boxes with stock PSU's vs the PSU in this video and the power consumption is the same
@TechManTY.2 ай бұрын
Couple a things, super glue would be great making that knob less error prone. The connectors that came with it are a better deal, it's electric code as well to keep the copper from having bad connection and arcing out. Also what is the power drain on this compared to stock psu? 👌
@GreaterGoodMining2 ай бұрын
Hey TechManTY I was thinking of just using electrical tape in the knob. That way I could still adjust the voltage if I ever use this for something else in the future. I'm not sure how the power drain on this compares to the stock PSU
@20zero112 ай бұрын
I would not use the crimp connectors that come with power supply unless you have a proper crimper to make that connection. Most people will be better off just terminating directly as he did in the video.
@TechManTY.2 ай бұрын
@@GreaterGoodMining I was driving this weekend and an idea popped in my head (no idea why) anyway check for a silicone washer, and put it between the knob and body where it is tight...maybe give enough resistance to the knob without sticky. Just test with stuff unplugged lol

Why did i not think of this? I bought normal 230W bricks from Amazon which is more than double the price... Baah now its too late. Not adding more miners shed is a furnace and winter is coming not much solar.
@GreaterGoodMining2 ай бұрын
It could be good to have one of these as a backup
@torbensloththomsen35572 ай бұрын
Well your right but ROI will never come if i keep buying stuff 😂. Btw i noticed the cords with 2,5 x 5,5mm are for only 180W, not much room for a "bigboy" oc, how to get past thus problem or are the cords avalable in higher wattage?

I'd be a little concerned about the 16 AWG cable. On Amazon it says not to go over 180 watts. Do these seem to handle it okay?
@GreaterGoodMiningАй бұрын
So far mine are handling it just fine pulling 180 watts. Always have to be careful overclocking. The weakest link always needs to be minded etc

That is the same PSU that I have it will handle the three stock KSU ultra but I Had one overclocked and two stock and it blowed the internal fuse the thing is the to keep your amps under 5 amps draw I replaced mine with a 8 amp but I keep it under 5 I showed some pictures on rabid mining discord #asic chat
