i think if you're comfortable with soldering, you can cut that barrel plug off, de-soldered the input jack and solder the wires straight to the board you wouldn't get that hot spot, at least not as much of one.... theoretically, i haven't tested it myself.

Hey brotha thanks for watching! It's tough to do a cost analysis with the supplies because I didn't push the machine to it's limits with this overclock, and the supplies could be used on multiple machines. The thermal pads, paste, heatsinks can be used to overclock multiple machines. The exhaust shroud might not be necessary. I want to do another video where I overclock the machine to the max using minimal modifications using pbfarmers overclocks which will be coming out soon. That might be a better way to analyze things. I honestly feel like you could get away with doing less mods and get the same hashrate etc

I’d probably keep it simple and just use the cost of better a psu and then compare the reduced efficiency but higher yield from the overclocked miner with excess fan wattage etc. Honestly just curious for my own decision to overclock or not haha. If I do overclock mine I’d definitely stick to what you’re talking about, minimum changes to get 500-560gh. I still have a lot of research to do so we’ll see. Keep up the good work!

@ModernMiningHub It's a great idea for a video for sure. From what I've seen and experienced with these you could basically get a 230 watt PSU, put the copper heatsinks on the power stages and do a single shroud with a powerful 120mm fan and achieving the 618 gh overclock should be no problem. Should pull about 225 watts total qith the fan. If you want any help at all with the video shoot me a DM anytime! I'd be glad to help

I can't stress enough, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS exactly. I bricked three Ultras before we figured out the Iceriver monitor has to be off before uploading the firmware. Once I did that it worked like a champ.

​Me I got locked out of my Ultra as my house lost power and the Ultra was assigned a new IP address. But then I could not get passed the admin login screen, I kept getting a password error message. What i had to do was use the Iceriver batch tool and uploaded the reset file and then restarted it....thank god it worked..

I have a Fruition Designs kit to and I cut holes in the side of mine to allow me to mount the fans to the outside. You could always try the desired overclock level first and see how it goes before cutting any holes etc. Might not need to go to that extreme

I have one fully modded KS0 Ultra @650Gh/s and 2 stock KS0 Ultra. But modifications are expensive. What we need now it's a 450 or 470Gh/s firmware for stock KS0 Ultra (or lightly modded) with stock PSU, because that's the most expensive part when overclocking

I would not recommend that! The power stages I point out in the video NEED to be cooled off and have copper heats sinks. That's more important than trying to cool off the chips/heat sink!

No concern of burning something up or down. Granted, it is cool that they put the effort in to making and figuring this out, but, the risk vs reward is high. Is there a way to audit the "fee" taken by the developer? Again, thanks for the video. I'll be watching to see how things turn out.

Just a heads-up that SS0 Ultra has to have original factory firmware (_14). This will not work if KS0 has been upgraded to firmware ICM168_3_2_15_.

You should still be able to get the ip to report. Open the set up Iceriver tool that you used to set up the machine in the first place and click the ip button in the tool. Then go to the machine and touch the ip report button and you will see your ip address. It's probably just because for some reason your ip switched or you don't have it set to static

I press the reset button for 30 seconds strangely that both lights blink at the same time and only blink green after about 10 seconds for both and it only stays on, it has an IP but when I try to access the miner's page with that IP it stays off line..but it is connected to iceriver normally. And my internet is ok, as I have other icerivers connected and mining

@@GreaterGoodMining Colleague, I need help from technical support, I carried out procedures but my iceriver ultra is stuck, the green and red lights are directly on, I reset it using the equipment button to see if this can be resolved. After 30 seconds both lights flash (green and red and nothing works). after overclocking firmware. Before it worked perfectly with 416 ghs...no problems..this happened after trying to apply OC to the miner.

Could someone back up the KS0 ULTRA's eeprom and make this available? That would solve the problem because we could all restore the eeprom and remove the machine from the bricked state. I'm also in the same way, if I had two machines I would be able to backup the eeprom and make it available, but I only have one and it's bricked. After the first version of the Tswift DF1 OC my machine remained in this state, as the revert file was only 3k and the current versions have more than 15 megs so it did not cause the bricking problem.

You could contact Tswift and see if he would make the eeprom available to you but I doubt it. Right now they are charging a fee to fix the KS0 Ultra if someone has trouble with it. His contact info is at the bottom of the Read-me file

I did 4 Ultras. No extra upgrade except 230PSU on free 562GH. I'm seeing between 580 to 620GH. I did no extra upgrades.

Nice, glad it's working out so far but fair warning, the power stages on these are rated for 125c. There is no way to monitor them with this OC firmware. You might want to consider putting some heat sinks on the power stages and at least one fan blowing through a shroud on the side. I hope your set up lasts

I have fans blowing thru the units. Axiel fans. No shroud. The monitor says all green when I checked. I may add heat syncs later

The instructions said heat syncs only needed for anything higher than 562OC. I’m just glad outer shell now cooler. It was scary hot w stock firmware

@kcxfiles16 the monitor does not show power stage temps. The power stages are what matter. Check out my video where I test a mostly Stock ks0 pro vs. A fully modded one. When you overclock, even a mild overclock, the power stages heat up fast. You're probably fine with the fan blowing through the side if the overclocks are mild but I wouldn't push it much more if I were you

That is honestly a very good way to go! Mine has been running nice and stay at about 620gh. The thing doesn't seem to be breaking a sweat. Although I wish I could see how hot the power stages are
