Has changing the type of gas an effect??? Because when I usually change it there is no change in the leak value.

I think it is only so in the report it shows what gas the leak is. I don't think it had an effect on leak rate.

Not typically through the ground. But if you have a specific application you should reach out to yiur local Fluke Sales person and have them come and do a demo to prove the concept.

I found them to be 21 to 23 grand. Used on EBay for 14 grand.
