In french, avoir les couilles = avoir le cran, le courage. In spanish, it's cojones. In french, we know that word so we can also use it for the same expression : avoir les cojones. I didn't know him, but it's probably because I don't watch TV anymore since 2000. In France, it's not that uncommon for politicians to get "entarté" (to have cream pies made of shaving foam thrown in the face), or to have flour or eggs thrown at them when they visit places.
