Now how did I miss THIS?!?!😳 Larry, I didn’t even wait till you fired it up…I paused the episode and went right to the link and bought it! I’ve been running a cheap 6” and I’ve for a long time wanted a quality variable speed 8”! Wow! So much good to say about this, so let’s start with the obvious; VEVOR! The led battery is GENIUS!! LED is a much brighter and cleaner light and VEVOR went top shelf! It puts the light I need right where I need it! The clear lenses are two point adjustable! Independent on and off switches!😲 the guide plates are solid and again, two point adjustable!😲😲 The drill bit guide is awesome!😲 The water tray…perfect size! My dad used to make them by cutting the bottoms on my moms dishwashing soap containers and he’d screw them to the bench. I made a wood mount base that my current scrap metal grinder is attached to and THAT, I just take the grinder out and mount it in a vise and when I’m done, I stow it away again. THIS beauty, I’ll probably leave mounted right to my bench! Variable speed!! Huge step up! I’ll be thrilled when this lands on my porch!! My old one will go into yard sale pile. I’ll get enough to buy a buffing wheel!!😁😎👊🏻

I have a delta similar to that Vevor. The capacitor went out, it’s more than 50% of the grinder cost to replace the capacitor, it’s currently apart.
@SirTools Жыл бұрын
OUCH, I replace my own capacitors but you have to even shop out a good price.

I always figured if I came across another used grinder for cheap I'd throw a buffing wheel on one side and a wire wheel on the other. Just a suggestion lol.

For things that I do, I would like a little bigger dish for water, That way I can put water in it and not have to add more to it very often. The battery operated lights, nope, like others have said LED's are so easy and simple, change them. I'm only guessing but since it takes slow long to get up to speed, the motor must not have a capacitor, and it also takes a long time to slow down. I would like the rest to not have the groove cut in it. Maybe there is a way to get over that parts. Now for $150 for a home grinder with 8" wheels, great deal. I also might not use the variable speed much. It would always be on high. Again for somebody starting out, great deal.

Got say agreed, but for that price, not a bad deal at all.

Really like the noise (or lack of noise). From my point of view, I hate the battery light. If it already plugged into the wall I should be easy to find a way to power the lights without having to resort to batteries. LED lights have come so far that everything should have them. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Thom, I'm on the fence over the battery thing, but all else was very GOOD...:)

I have a 6 inch grinder i mostly use for sharpening gouges for the lathe. I really wish it had variable speed and that water dish is way better than not having one like mine didn't come with. But thats a small price to pay for buying used equipment for $20 at a yard sale lol. I keep an old 3 lb joint compound bucket by it for water. Looks like an awesome buy.

I like the grinder, but the led lights should use power from the 120 volt source, not batteries. Battereies are hokey, to say the least.
