I'm getting the Sigma 30mm f1.4 as my first prime for my M50 MKII
@jeffstefan30272 жыл бұрын
Jay, that should be an awesome lens. That should put you at ~48mm focal length (1.6 x 30 for the crop factor M50 sensor). This is virtually a 50mm lens and is probably the most versatile focal length of all. Good luck with it!

I’m sold! Buying the wife an M50 with 22mm. Thanks for the samples Jeff.

Thank you. It's a great camera/lens combination.

I have both of them and use it on the M6 ... great Lenses, I love them! You really should consider the EF M 28mm, its extremely Sharp, has no Field Curvature, has basically no Chromatic Abberation and features IS, it also has a 43mm Filter Thread. And it focuses down to catch a Flea :-)

I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip!

IF I HAVE 18-150 MM LENS DO I GET THE SAME RESULT AS YOUR 2 LENSES??
@jeffstefan30274 жыл бұрын
No you will not. The 32mm and 22mm are fixed focal length lenses, which are optically better than zoom lenses.

Does the 1.4 help a lot with low light? They say m50 is not too good with low light
@jeffstefan30275 жыл бұрын
I've used the M50 in low light and at high ISO values such as 1800 and there's a little grain, but not bad. With any lens, the lower the aperture, the better the lens is. An f/1.4 lens is great in low light, but the depth of field is very shallow, so that's something to be aware of.

Sir, Please suggest me a lens for M50 that I can use to focus/capture plane. I am an old man, who just jumped the plane spotting wagon. This is my first professional camera - got as an present. Thabk you.

Ramachandran, sorry for not answering sooner. This is the first time I've seen your comment. Congrats on your M50. It's a great camera and I use it all the time. Get a telephoto lens or a telephoto zoom. The photograph aircraft, you want a decent zoom lens. I have a 55-200mm EF-M f/4 and it's not too expensive at around $230 U.S. Good luck!

@@jeffstefan3027 Thank you. I was searching for M50 video and watched your video. This is my first comment in your channel. Thanks for your reply. I will look at the option and availability here in India. Covid19 has pushed me to stay indoors for few months now. Will update you my experience sooner I can. Many Thanks.

nice review! l use the same zoom lenses for my Canon M50, regarding fixed focus l'm still considering between Canon 32mm or Sigma 30mm f1.4 3/4 mouth, a bit cheaper but bulky. did you try it?
@jeffstefan30275 жыл бұрын
Thanks, jhonny. I haven't tried the Canon 32 or Sigma 30. I bet they're both good lenses, though. When you get around the f/1.4 focal length you can't help but get a decent lens, in my opinion.

I've got the original EOS-M in my lineup and I'd love to have that 22 just because it would be a killer B-roll or walkaround camera you could shove in a jacket pocket. Nothing like traveling light. : )

Jeff, which lens adapter are you using with the M50?
@jeffstefan30274 жыл бұрын
Andrew, sorry for not replying earlier- this is the first I've seen of your comment. I'm using a Viltrox adaptor, the Viltrox EF-EOS M2 0.71x Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF-Mount Lens to Canon EF-M-Mount Camera. You can get it at B&H, Adorama or just about anywhere. I hope this helps.

@@jeffstefan3027 Thanks Jeff, I decided to purchase the Canon EOS SL3 Camera, which doesn't need an adapter.

The 32mm is (in my opinion) the best native prime for the M50. Sigma 16mm and 56mm are both excellent and cover a different range. Have you tried any of the sigma glass?
@jeffstefan30275 жыл бұрын
No I haven't, but from what you say, I think I will. Thanks!

Is it good to buy a 56mm of sigma 1.4 for m50 or 30mm?
@laythasthepaladin5 жыл бұрын
@@jeffstefan3027 I'd love to see a review of either when you get it done. I didn't notice the reply but I'm subbed now, I'll keep up better :D
@laythasthepaladin5 жыл бұрын
@@abedinshohagh9837 depending on the range you want to shoot, it could be either. I haven't tried the 30mm but it is quite similar to the 32mm canon, so if you have the 32 I wouldnt get the 30 from sigma. It is remarkably hard to find a direct comparison of the 30 and 32mm though. I'll be making one soon on another account, so keep an eye out. The 16mm is roughly equivalent to your kit 15mm zoomed out on focal distance but with a much larger aperture. As far as I'm concerned, with the limited amount of lenses for the ef-m mount; there aren't many poor choices in glass... especially from sigma or canon.
