Both cities have amazing museums and urban nature, are very culturally diverse and are really close to natural wonders. If you want somewhere affordable I would recommend Edmonton, it may not be in a scenic area however the mountains are only 3-4 hours away. The city has a huge indoor waterpark and several other fun attractions like a science museum or the Royal Alberta Museum. Quebec is also a great choice if you know or are willing to learn French. I have lived in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and now Alberta. Toronto was beautiful in the 60’s and 70’s then it started to change to what is now overcrowded, expensive and crime ridden. I would not choose it anymore. Winnipeg, Manitoba in the mid to late 80’s was lovely. People were polite especially in winter, when driving was challenging, friendly and it is very cultural. People would say it would be the best city in Canada if it was in the mountains. Now I live in Edmonton, Alberta a dirty city with a council that puts high priced, unaffordable recreation centres ahead of services that would benefit everyone. Now they want to increase the population to 2 million when it can’t afford to sustain the existing population of 1,568,000. The taxes this year have risen to 8.9% and house prices are expected to increase 6.5% for an average price of $458,000. I lived in Calgary, in the Fish Creek provincial park area close to the C-train and a good bus service to downtown. 45 minutes from the mountains and Kananaskis, great zoo, vibrant downtown and if it is not much more expensive than Edmonton and is ranked 7th best city to live in worldwide. To compare the 2 cities, Edmonton tries to be world-class but just doesn’t have what it takes. The people seem to have very little pride in their city, the parks are a mess of weeds which also grow wherever there is green space and they very possibly have the worst and rudest drivers in the country. Very sorry if this offends anyone.

I'm from Saskatchewan and it is one of the most beautiful Province in Canada for the retirees and it has lots of recreational wildlife places to visit and the cost of living is much cheaper than the other Provinces in Canada with the exception of Prince Edward Island (PEI). But only the weather during the winter months is much colder.

About québec Bars, Pubs, Brasseries are closing at 3.00 Am. So forget about illicit bars. In Ontatio bars ar closing at 1.00 Am. People of Ottawa are crossing the bridge to Québec to finish the party. So what was said in that beautiful video concerning your possibilities of having a good drink at night are wrong. An other way to be unfriendly towards our citizens. ( as usual). We are not bums. So please be advised accordingly.

Manitoba is the best provinces I used to live in. House expense is cheap, lots of beautiful landscapes in Manitoba. Unlike such as Toronto big cities etc. very expensive property cost, ugly human made concrete forest. You only feel out of breath for everyday hard work including weekend overtime work to make a living. Lots of wasting time and money for political elections. For example there is no forum discussing highway 407 free driving again. This is for working class people to save money and can expense more in groceries etc. and finally increasing lots of companies products to sell and finally increase more employment. But there is no politicians talking about it. And capital country Canada encouraged capitalisms bribery government for advantage rights to get ugly extra money. Like Chinese government does!

Canada is opening doors to all these new immigrants but it's also kicking out own citizens, because of unable to find jobs that you like no matter that you are highly educated or afford the living expenses. If you are over 50 you will never get a professional job and if you are a recent graduate, even if you study and born in Canada, you can't get a job either because no experience. This is Ontario, this is our home country Canada.

The 1988 Olymics were not the catalyist for the cities urban growth. The 88 Winter games left a Sporting and training legacy if that's what you are refering to. The economic driver is Oil and Gas exploration and devlopment. This has occured over many decades leading up to 1988 and continuesthrough to 2023. Other econmic drivers such as technology, tourism, film and TV production and Finacial services, freight logistics both truck and rail.

1st, Canada is a vast country, but its living area is getting overpopulated, mostly in the ontarian peninsula & under the 49th parallel (70%) of us. The country has a high level of tax, add up GST, PST, unaffordable housing and lower quality of public services. This video is not really factual. No mention that QC has the lowest rate of crime & Alberta has one of the highest, Ontario has the best job opportunities but QC has the lowest unemployment rate after Manitoba. Quebec has higher tax than 60% of Canadians but has the lowest postsecondary education tuitions, lowest hydro bills, still affordable housing compared with others.

Montreal was never mentioned in this report, yet considered the most interesting city in the country, more comparable to New York than Toronto claims to be from the points of view of architecture, arts, culture, cosmopolitanism, higher education, quality of life, security, accessibility, transport, close to nature and, of course, to the legendary joie de vivre of its inhabitants.

Canada west coast fault lines. Each year, seismologists with the Geological Survey of Canada record and locate more than 1000 earthquakes in western Canada. The Pacific Coast is the most earthquake-prone region of Canada. In the offshore region to the west of Vancouver Island, more than 100 earthquakes of magnitude 5 or greater (large enough to cause damage had they been closer to land) have occurred during the past 70 years. Part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, the concentration of earthquakes along the west coast is related to the presence of active faults, or breaks in the earth's crust. The surface of the earth is always changing, as the earth's crust is made up of "plates" (like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle) that are constantly moving relative to one another at speed's of about 2-10 cm/year (about how fast your fingernails grow). The plates can either slide past one another, or they can collide, or they can diverge (or move apart). You forgot that the west coast of Canada is one of the few areas in the world where all three of these types of plate movements take place, resulting in significant earthquake activity. Still number 1?
