I bounce between this and 2 other build types: 1. Anomaly Visage with Acari boots for max Cooldown(acari helm has no CDR), 2. Acari Boots with Purple pants to free up the Anomaly Echo mod(I find it lackluster compared to Ashen Boost/Bullet Kindling, any defense mod, Untamed Power, or a third Heatwave). My grinding towards this build. I'm very similar to you except I was planning to use Ashen Boost and Untamed Power but now I think I'll try your variant (once I get the Acari chest piece of course). Awesome video as always 👌

You're pretty much the only content creator I'd trust to actually do this test, but I'd be curious if you tried the build without the Deathshield (or more importantly the Fortress mod). I haven't seen a single build out there that doesn't use that mod when clearing the CT15s, and I'm not sure if it's even possible. At least if you attempted it a bit, I know you'd genuinely report back on your feelings about if it was tougher to do and how often your runs were successful.

try using Acari boots instead of head gives CD instead of AP, then go bottom tree for all the AP you can ask for. Cooldowns are 5.9H/5.8O/12.3AB (which lines up perfectly for AB every other rotation). Sub-6 sec cooldowns feel great. Put 2 points in top & middle trees to get cooldowns then in bottom tree take wildfire, fire & Anomaly, and all archmage, gifted and marked nodes along bottom tree to end (ignoring CD & burn nodes). I use 20% resist instead of 6% skill leach. If you have any problems dying switch 12% AP (exp) for Phoenix. Net change is: 40% + 12% AP (exp), which is similar to 10% + 45% AP (Imm), 30% dmg (exp) which is better than ash applies vuln. Dmg against marked/ashed are about same.

@@theFullMeasure Another fun thing to try is instead of putting 2 points into middle tree take both explosive CD nodes for 6.9H/4OH/12.3AB. The play style is to weave a overheat between every skill and cast on cooldown. If no other skill is available melee inflicts burn then OH does extra dmg. This works very well with untamed power (which will be your number 2 dmg ability if you play close to bosses. As a side note "The Wicker" w/ fortress is a great primary weapon for pyro (I use Anemoi as swap gun for moaning). The stats for wicker are SP & SLL which is perfect and ultimate ash bullets is CC on demand and can be combined with overheat for extra dmg if everything is on cooldown (which doesn't happen often).

If you have a spare Funeral Pyre, then it has 20 in the mag while Deathshield only has 10. This is a micro-efficiency, but it means you reload less on your primary. Great content as always.

I believe funeral pyre has more pellets so more chances for comets(hits more targets).

@@theFullMeasure No problem. I look forward to your Dev and Trickster videos because they are the first ones that I perfected to easily get gold in solo 15s. My Trickster's Temporal Blade can hit for almost 4.5M damage after the patch; the Techno's RPG buff was noticeable as well, which makes me want to test the newly buffed Faser Beam on Pyro. Maybe we can run some expos together in an upcoming stream

I have a very similar build as you, I just have no defensive mod and use Captain hunter and I dropped Phoenix force for Ashen Boost. I like it better since overheat just hits consistently harder (20%). It's great for groups, but very unforgiving for solo play :)

Ashen boost is easily the better mod over pheonix force or captain hunter. Tried all 3 with this build and ashen boost wins👍

I did try Ashen Boost but the configuration of mods I have on this build is better. There's no lesser choice to swop for Ashen Boost

I think the mods that are absolutely necessary for this build to be good are: detonator, death sentence, burnt-out, master consumer, ash range, and a defensive mod (I really like blacksmith but others can work). One slot gets semi wasted on anomaly echo which isn't terrible but would rather have many others instead. That leaves 3 more slots for ride the way, tsunami, untamed power, captain hunter, ashen boost, and others. Although I love the convenience of tsunami, heatwave is not a major source of dmg so I skip that. Trash dies quickly, so it is best to target mods at bosses so I use ride wave for extra 25% (stacking burnt-out), captain hunter for 25% dmg. I have played around with last slot a lot and untamed power seems to help bring down bosses the fastest. The dmg scales with 30% anomaly and triggers on every cast or melee. Untamed is always my number 2 ability, if I fight close to enemies.

Have you tried taking this build, through the lower tree? There are tons of nodes that give many anomaly boosts, especially since you said this build relies off of anomaly power instead of weapon power. :)
