i don't think because sub controller consumption is very low. you can try and check if your battery keep power. but what you mean cigarette lighter grey cable? main controller have only red and black

Hello, yes you need to find the blue /gray wire if you have a VW Passat. you can use fast connector or different system for connect the positive line from LED controller. you can remove just little bit the wire protection and solder them for example.

Hello, for handle because i already have door handles light, i just take off the plastic from the new ambient light for keep only the LED and put between plastic handle and door panel, just next to the OEM door handles light. i didn't want to do hole or cut someting. and for connect you just need to connect on ambient light controller.

Hello, you can take the power from dashboard (tachometer), but it is not the best idea, Better to find the power in another place (like button cable). And this place depend from which car you want to install the LED. Usually you need a tester or multimeter for check which cable is for 12v from light signal. On the video for VW Passat B8 it was a blue/gray cable. You take your tester/multimeter and you check each cable with light OFF and light ON, and when you have 12V when light is ON. It mean, you can use this cable for LED power.

You can't connect to any wire at the back, you have to run one + wire from the front of the car to the back and then everything will light up as it should.

Hi, I have a 2018 VW Arteon and I tried to install the same ambient light in the two front doors according to your video. After installation the two big speakers in the doors don't play deep sounds and bass anymore. I connected everything well where it was originally, I controlled everything for broken wires or such, but nothing. Also no fault code. What could cause this and what could be the solution?

Hello did you find a solution ? speakers and positive signal for LED is not linked, there is no link togeter, maybe you forget to connect back the speaker. please check the wire.

Hello, did you connect main module and sub module? and headlight is on ? On the door you took blue/gray cable ? or on the dashboard? if no OEM light that mean the BCM stop the power to light. you need to disconnect the LED and find why because it must work with blue/gray cable/. and not blue cable. with blue cable it doesn't work. check and let me know

Yes you are right, can you try to go to multimedia system (MIB) and go to "CAR" setting and put the dimming light to maximum. After that turn off the ignition and close the car. Open the car and turn on the ignition. let me know ))

Hello, Yes you can connect to window switch but you need to take light signal cable (12V) on switch connector. Yes you can don't use dashboard light, and connect only main controller, it will work.

on switch window connector, example there 6 pin connector, you need to find on this connector the cable who will turn on the door button light when it's darkness/night. it is a 12V signal, you can connect your sub module(red cable) to this cable and negative cable on the door, like that when your headlight will turn on, the ambient light also will turn on. And for main module you can connect to dashboard light switch on left side.

yes you can cut the stripe but always let around 1CM because when you cut sometime the end of stripe can have different color. Example you put blue color and the end have purple. For fix that you just need to cut again 5mm and try . It happened with me. i just cut again some milimeter and the color became same for full stripe. inside the stripe there is LED bar.

Hello, you don't need to connect 2 connector, on this one you have to take the size you need and cut off the excess. Or if your dashboard have the possibility (the design). you can use example : 15cm for driver side and 80 cm for passenger side.

You can take a multimeter and test each PIN. Or you can follow the wire who go to windows button and find the signal for backlight button, if you want that the ambient light work with backlight.

Hello, reliability is okay for this moment, very seldom i have door side who is flashing but this is not a LED problem, it is my car ECU who detect an error. the dim in night is perfect, you can manage the power with APP and choose the power you need. At lowest brightness it is too much weak. i personaly choose 50% of power.

Я так розумію що якщо підсвітка в авто загальна виставлена на мінімум, для блока не вистачає потужності і він не вмикається. А якщо підключитися до загального + і - який заходить в двері?

Привіт, зазвичай із синім/сірим у вас не буде проблем із відключенням електроенергії 12 В. Якщо у вас є збої, ви можете спробувати підключитися до іншого джерела 12 В. але я не знаю, чи світлодіодні коробки споживають багато енергії. і тому ризикує розрядити автомобільний акумулятор. тримай мене в курсі

@@nocturneindustrie проблема в тому що коли підключаєшся так як на відео, і підсвітку ставиш на мінімум (це саме в дверях) то підсвітка взагалі не вмикається, до того ж і зникає підсвітка в дверцятах, перестають світитися кнопки. Я дверцята підключив до загального живлення яке в них заходить, так, там постійно напруга, вже пройшов тиждень, поки проблем нема. Що до акомулятора, сама ж підсвітка не працює, як вимкнений головний блок, а він підключений до підсвітки на торпеді. Поки знайшов тільки таке рішення ((

Привіт, я поставив підсвічування на мінімум і світлодіоди тьмяні живлення, але все продовжує функціонувати нормально. Можливо, регулювання інтенсивності на BCM (наприклад, через VCDS) може вирішити проблему. У мене є висока версія BCM.

Hello, yes it must be same color, it is same plateform, but there is some people who had problem to install it with gray/blue cable on the door, because the BCM module cut off the power for light (detect a fault). it depend about the bcm model. it is possible to install on permanent 12V power for the subcontroller and try to find on dashboard gray/blue 12V signal for main controller, for reduce the consumption on the energy.

You mean if you install OEM LED ? Because even you use coding for activate the LED the wire is different, blue/gray is used as a signal for headlight and dimming light button. If you activate with vcds the LED it will be okay for OEM LED but for not OEM it will not work. BCM will cut off because the control module (from china) take more energy that OEM LED.
