Glad to see others despise the Rav4 horn as much as I do. Whenever I honk, I'm always disappointed in its anemic, shrill sound. I'm much less handy than you, so given your challenges, I'll probably take it in to get swapped, but good to hear the recommendation.

I'm not handy at all.. Just ask my wife. The new horn does make a huge difference though. Any shop should be able to swap it out though really cheap..

Following the instructions, it was so easy to replace my 2020 Rav4 wimpy horns. And now, I really enjoy the high trumpet sound of my Hella Horns. I have a neighbor was has a Rav4 and wanted and hear my new horn. They ask how I changed them. A shared I followed a KZbin video on how to change them. I learned a lot about my Rav4 and the improvement to enhance my vehicle. Thanks for the instructions.

Nice upgrade! Hella has a long reputation in the European car world, dating back to the early years of Mercedes Benz, BMW, VW, Audi, Volvo, Saab, etc. I installed twin Saab 9 horns into my daughter's 2002 Beetle in 2016. They are insanely loud.

@@GoldenK9Campers Looking forward to a new video. We have 2 in the pipeline, but the process has been greatly slowed by Miss Kate's work schedule/load. I'm in the process of an upgrade, so that I can run editing software, like DaVinci, and then I can take on the job of editing. I created the most recent throw-back vids on a lesser program, but it didn't matter because they were shot with a lower res camera.

The trumpets have to lay facing down so no water gets into them, and there is a high tone low tone.

My father had an accident at a Sunday parking lot. He was already leaving the area and out of middle of nowhere in the parking lot. Some guy decided to back up without looking both ways. My father was so pissed off at the oem horns and blames the horns for not being enough loud lol. So here I am. Wanting to change them. (The other driver is at fault though)

It wasn't even really a "beep beep". More like a "meep meep". Some of the most pathetic sounding horns I've ever heard from the factory.

I added these to my 2023 Rav4. Like what's been said, Amazon says "does not fit your vehicle". They do in fact "fit". Factory plugs clip right on. These horns are loud and have that bright, euro sound. If they were any louder, they would be obnoxious. Honestly, for $30ish dollars, if you're expecting more than this, you're looking at the wrong product and need to be looking at air horns.

The OEM one's are a combination of metal and plastic. The Hella Horn is mostly plastic, but the bracket is metal.

I wonder if it would matter which side the trumpets were on. If you had reversed them would you have had to cut the tape to make the connection?

Another viewer who recently installed said this "So for anyone doing this, Amazon says it does not fit 5th gen RAV4, technically that is correct, but the best mod is even simpler then cutting the tape. On the back of the horn there is a nut just loosen the nut (10mm) and rotate the horn on the bracket 45 degrees so the connect faces down and tighten the nut again, that’s it, you will have plenty of wire (slightly more then with factory horn). "

Yeah.. I get it. I quieted the pedestrian warning system and made the horn louder. At least I have control on when I use the horn. And when I do.. it's usually for a reason.. I'm not an aggressive horn honker !!
