This is a masterpiece which was big back in the days, but it goes rather unnoticed today, which is a real shame. It's one of their best, the harmonies, the solos of both Frida and Agnetha - and the beat. ABBA at their best, and Frida is so lovely in this video. Human, but beautiful.

Undoubtedly the finest ABBA song. A sonic landscape, with an hypnotic blend of Agnetha and Anna-Frid's gorgeous voices. Anna-Frid always struck me as the far _happier_ of the two women, and far more relaxed in her own skin. Though Agnetha with her big blue eyes and long blonde Swedish locks stole many a teenager's heart, it's Anna-Frid who still has men captivated years later. And she has aged like a fine wine - very well indeed, without remotely plasticising her beautiful face.

I was just six years old when this came out; we were living in Germany (RAF camp) and when this video came on I felt like I was in that kitchen with them playing those games. My favourite ABBA song, an absolute classic and Frida looks so beautiful with her gorgeous red hair, the colour and length really suited her. I was 11 years old when this song was released i remember the video very well, i was captured by Frida's stunning looks and wanted to look like her ❤ xx

how nice to see you again at the same day and its crazy that the two songs that you react today have the same thing: winner or game these is an extraordinary song by ABBA, which has many peculiarities: 1) I think it's the first in which each of the girls sings a verse as lead voice 2) the video was recorded at the blonde Agnetha & blonde Björn's home, because Agnetha was very late in her second pregnancy (that's why maybe she's sitting and cared for in the picture) 3) "The name of the game" was released in October 1977, two month before "ABBA The Album" and the movie "ABBA The Movie" It was a bold gamble from ABBA, it opened their horizons and spread beyond pop. Hip hopers THE FUGEES sampled this for their 1996 hit 'Rumble in the Jungle'.Twas the only time Benny and Bjorn gave permission for sampling.They got very flattered that was asked by a black band that was from different genre.Second and last time was for Madonna in 2005.All Others got turned down.

Next "Ring Ring" this was their first hit, 1973, before "Waterloo". It never crossed over but it was a major hit all through Europe!! Make sure you pull up the original Video. This year is it's 50th anniversary!! Of course "Waterloo" crossed over a hit all over the world. Then Frida solo "When all is said and done" it's a beautiful song, it's when she and Benny were breaking up!! 1981 (divorcing) but they still worked together!! "Winner takes it all" is when Agnetha and Bjorn were breaking up 1980 (divorcing) but they could still work together!!

One of ABBA´s best songs in my opinion! Did you know that ABBA only twice allowed other artists to sample from their songs? The most wellknown is Madonna who used the beat and synthesizer riff from Gimme, Gimme, Gimme - A Man after Midnight in her mega hit Hung Up! The other one is The Fugees who used the bass line and rhythm from this song - The Name of the Game - in their song Rumble in the Jungle!

I believe this was one one of their happiest times. They had done a huge tour perviously and relesed a movie based on the tour so they had a couple of years break from touring. The new album was a huge sucess. Agnetha was heavily pregnant at the time of making this video with her and Bjorns second child. Hence she is sitting down the whole time and not in the spinning sqence And Anni-frid and Benny finally tied the knot after several years together and it shows in how happy and relaxed they are.

I love me some Abba, no doubt. There talent is stunning. and they've so many amazing songs, but my favourite thing about Abba is that they turned down one billion dollars to go on tour in 2000. Their lack of avarice, in a time when the art has become suppressed by the dollars, is very refreshing.

Janne schaffer was the guitarist in the abba band and in the studio..he played with bob marley prior to abba. His influence on some of the grooves is very noticeable. All the little reggae guitar licks in the background..

Loving your abba journey but just a teeny bit of advice One Of Us was a song they released Dec 1981 don't look at it just yet enjoy the good years enjoy Frida at her happiest this video is hard to watch they are so done with it all, Frida is so sad and heartbroken in it. Benny and her had just separated early in the year he is also expecting his baby to be born in Jan '82 such a difficult time for poor frida. By the way love your singing 😅😅😅

I thought the game being played looked a bit like Parcheesi, but not quite. I looked it up and found out it's called “Fia-spel”. Turns out it’s a Scandinavian version of the German board game “Mensch ärgere dich nicht”, which is a variation of Parcheesi/Ludo. So there's a reason it looks like Parcheesi, I guess.

The bord game they are playing in the video is called ”Fia med knuff”. Fia with push if straightly translated to english. It’s maybe not played so much these days but in the 70’s and 80’s it was extremely popular.
